Shooting, Scoring, & Conditioning Camp The full spectrum of the RMHS developed stickhandling progression from basic dribbling to advanced puck control concepts such as puck protection and creating space will be the foundation for this camp. Also covered in depth during the stickhandling portion will be passing lanes, vision, play away from the puck, support, and the proper execution of advanced fakes and dekes. All conditioning drills will be based on the European Training Method of incorporating pucks into all skating drills to ensure proper puck control skill and habit development. Fundamental knowledge of how to properly train ones body for athletic competition will be discussed, stressing proper work to rest ratios, hydration, and optimal physical conditioning. Advanced powerskating drills will also be included, focusing on speed and power development while conditioning. ATTENTION GOALTENDERS - Every RMHS camp will offer professional goaltending instruction from one of our professional goaltending coaches. 2016 Work A Thon - Oakman, AL
What is "Work A Thon"? It's a great opportunity for young people and youth groups to get together, have fun, help the camp, and earn free weeks to use or share with friends. "What do I need to do?" Ask your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brother, cousins, friends, the barista at the coffee shop, the cable repair guy, EVERYBODY to sponsor you by paying for your days labor. Earn $250 and get a week of camp at 1/2 price. Earn $500 and get a free week of camp! Lunch and drinks will be provided! Youth Football Camp - Des Arc, AR
This is a NON-CONTACT sports camp. Each camper will receive positive individual instruction on the game of football. Local 2016 area college football signees along with former Arkansas Razorbacks Clint Stoerner, Tommy Harris, and Matt Harris will be in attendance. Ouachita Baptist University All-American Brent Calhoun, Waymon Johnson, and Dallas Cowboy great Cliff Harris will encourage youth players to work their hardest at the camp. High school athletes, coaches and football staff will work at the camp in order to provide each camper with quality instruction. Each camp session will also deal with the teaching and discussion of character issues such as honesty and sportsmanship. Each camper will get a chance to earn awards at the end of camp day. This is a great opportunity for local young boys and girls to have a great time in a fun camp. Don’t worry parents. There will plenty of water provided… The cost of the camp is $40 per camper. The camp tuition includes all camp activities, a camp T-shirt, hydration station, and lunch. Concession stand will be provided and parents are invited to stay and watch! Environmental Art Camp (VSA Tennessee partnership) - Gallatin, TN
Environmental Art Camp is a program created specifically for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13 who are interested in the environment and have a love of art. The camp will be under the direction of VSA Tennessee teaching artist, Dee Kimbrell. During the camp, the young people will learn about environmental issues and their effect on our national parks. Participants will create their own tunnel books that reflect ecosystems within the parks. They will also create a larger tunnel book specific to the Smoky Mountain National Park. This book will be given to the park as a 100th anniversary gift at Tremont in October. The book will remain on site as an educational tool. Other purposes for taking this course include reviewing and previewing Algebra II as needed. (As with all summer for-credit courses, students may choose to audit this course or proceed on a for-credit basis.) Textbooks will be loaned to the students, but students must provide their own graphing calculator (Head-Royce uses the TI84 or TI83). Prerequisite: Algebra 1 and Geometry, minimum C grade.
