Camp - Fun in the Sun Wk 3: 4-7 yrs old 7/11-7/15 - Recreation-D.P.S.
The Recreation Department is once again offering one-week day camps that will be held at Lessenger Elementary (30150 Campbell). Campers are asked to wear sneakers/tennis shoes (no sandals, flip-flops or open toe shoes) each day and to bring their own sack lunch (including beverages) unless otherwise noted. Registration fee includes all trips, camp t-shirt, craft and supplies and snacks. For $10 drop your child off at 7:30 am or pick your child up at 4:30 pm, both options for only $20! Boating: Basic Sailing Camp - Lake Merritt Boating Center
Piedmont Recreation is proud to partner with the City of Oakland Lake Merritt Boating Center. Piedmont Recreation offers transportation to and from these camps. The Basic Sailing Camp requires a swim evaluation that can be arranged through the Piedmont Community Pool at (510) 655-5163. SWIM EVALUATION IS REQUIRED. This entry level sailing class will definitely give kids a chance to get their "sea legs". The campers start off learning the parts of the sailboat and by weeks end theyll understand wind direction as it relates to propelling, and more importantly, controlling their sailboat. Games and drills on the water help to teach these basic skills. No experience is needed. If your child does not have a swim evaluation verification on file, a swim evaluation will have to be completed before the first day of camp. Get to know other junior bird enthusiasts while hiking, playing games, and doing crafts during a week that is truly ?for the birds?. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bird Bonanza is a three-day half-day mini-camp at Blue Jay Point County Park for children ages 6-8. All participants should wear play clothes, closed-toe shoes (like sneakers or day hikers) and bring weather appropriate outerwear to each camp session.
