What I like about this camp is my kids can choose between a day camp (for ages 5-12), an overnight camp (for ages 9-13) or a specialty camp (ages 11-17). Learning and caring for the Earth are emphasized. My son had the opportunity to explore lakes, forests and farmland. He also made lifelong friends with kids who share his similar interests. ... All current NASA rocket launchers are no longer useable because all of the available rocket-fuel sources on Earth have been depleted. Participants will serve as NASA engineers tasked with developing non-fuel-based rocket launcher prototypes in an effort to maintain current and future NASA space programs and missions. The merging of Algebra 2 and Geometry begins in this course with the continued development of functions and their context within the real number system. Using geometric modeling, this course covers roughly 2/3 of the traditional Geometry course and 1/3 of the traditional Algebra 2 course. Students use the graphing calculator and The Geometers Sketchpad software. PREREQUISITE: Algebra 1 & Ensworth Mathematics Department approval CREDIT: Year lower course credit in Mathematics 615-383-0661

The average child gets just 6 minutes of unstructured outdoors time per day, but were changing that at camp. Imagine the great cities of the world and their monumental and powerful architecture. We will create our own architectural firm for the chance to build things in 3D: a hockey rink, football stadium, golf course, art gallery, a museum, a roller coaster theme park, an aquarium, or even the great Roman Coliseum! As future architects, learn about perspective drawing and go outdoors to draw the architecture of Cary Academy. For the grand finale, our creative engineering skills will be challenged with the classic egg drop project where teams design a device to protect an egg from a 15 foot drop as campers from other summer programs watch the competition and cheer us on! 919-677-7839
