CrossFit HighGear offers two JumpStart camps to choose from! KIDS CAMP runs from June 6 - 10 while TEEN CAMP runs from June 13 - 17 both from 10 am - noon. Registration includes a t-shirt and daily snack! Campers will participate in a strength and conditioning program that combines gymnastics, body-weight calisthenics and weightlifting elements. Participants learn to move their bodies and move them well, making them fitter and more resilient day to day. We focus on quality of movement before we push intensity. Regardless of age, ability or experience, campers benefit physically as their bodies adapt and become stronger, faster and more flexible. Mon, July 11, 2016 - Fri, July 15, 2016 Summer Art Camp at the SCGA Morning Classes: 9:00am - 12:00pm: Fun in the Mud (Ages 4-7) In this beginner’s pottery class students will be introduced to different kinds of clay, the pottery wheel, a variety of hand-building skills and colorful glazes. We will draw inspiration for our creations from children’s stories as we combine art, storytelling and play in this unique class offering. Space is the Place (Ages 4-7) “Houston, we have lift off!” Join us for a week of activities designed to engage our youngest students through both visual art and science. We will learn about rockets, the Milky Way, black holes, the solar system, our unique moon and more through painting, sculpture, and mixed media art projects. Modern Masters (Ages 8-12) introduces children to the wonderful world of Van Gogh, Cézanne, Dali, Chagall and Matisse. Using famous works of art to understand the artist’s styles, children reproduce their own artwork. These lessons are classic examples of how mixing art history with simple, foundational techniques can create the most beautiful works of art. Bee Hive Camp - Red River Valley Fair
Campers will get down and dirty learning about bees while building wooden beehives at the Red River Valley Fair. Campers will learn how to construct our precut beehive building stations: box station, framing station and painting station. In-between building beehives, a bee specialist will teach the campers about bees and their habitat. Request t-shirt size on the registration form. Meet at the Schollander Information Building. HORSEPOWER RIDING CAMP @ HORSEPOWER IN COLFAX $375 Rising 3rd-7th Session I June 13-17 8:30 am-2:00pm * Please note different fee Session II July 11-15 We have an incredible summer experience planned for your child. Our HORSEPOWER Staff is committed to providing both you and your child with the peace of mind that they will have a safe, positive, fun-filled week of adventure, friendships, and memories. This camp introduces beginning and non-riders to recreational horseback riding. Topics include understanding the nature of the horse, riding skills, mounting/dismounting, equipment, handling of horses, care of the horse, and coordinated horse-rider balance. *The Horsepower Director reserves the right to decline the application of any child, or send home any child, who according to the Directors discretion is displaying extreme inappropriate behaviors or impacts the safety of self or others.
