Latin and Greek Cognates - Morgan Park Academy
It is estimated that 60% of the terminology college students will face come from words formed from ancient Greek and Latin affixes and root words. Knowing how to break down a word which has been formed from Greek or Latin can help a student not only build a working vocabulary, but also help a student construct a basic meaning for a new or unfamiliar word. Students who learn this skill see their vocabularies grow and their anxiety lessen. As students who enter college are faced with not only increased amounts of reading, but also increased difficulty in those readings, having the skill to navigate these readings, assignments, and exams makes academic success much more easily attainable. Our summer class will investigate and analyze Greek and Latin cognates so that students may increase their vocabulary and learn how to decode an unfamiliar word, providing a vital foundation for testing, reading, and writing confronted in upper school and university academic life. 773-881-6700

Jr Robotics - 1/2 Day - Bricks
Our 1/2 day Jr Robotics class is the best of the Explorer camp but with shorter days for those that dont want a full day camp. If your young children dream of creating and inventing with LEGOs and technology then this is the camp for them! Just like our popular after school courses, campers will use the LEGO® WeDo® system to learn how simple machines work with programmable motors and sensors. THE CHALLENGES ARE ALL NEW AND JUST FOR SUMMER CAMPERS! Learn exciting and new ways to use pulleys, levers and gears to build and program ALL NEW machines! Dream Big Art Camp - Allendale Art Camp Location
Get ready to dream big in this exciting art camp focused on artists who illustrated their dreams. This camp will focus on artists who used their creative imagination, stepped out of the box and create artworks focused on the Surreal. Students will paint imaginary animals, sculpt an imaginary dreamscape, and learn how to draw from your imagination. Students will learn about artists like Picasso, Miro, Dali, Munch, and many more.
