Our camp days will include harvesting, making garden snacks, singing, storytelling, garden caretaking, garden crafts, and investigation of the natural world. Each day has a theme (past examples: Bugs, Seeds, Chickens & Eggs). This camp serves 15 campers with a 1:5 ratio of instructors to campers, allowing us to tailor camp activities to the ages and interests of those present. For 4-6 year olds. This camp program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00-1:00. After-care option 1:00-3:00, with pick-up at 3:00. Sibling discount of $25 for second childs registration. Residential Field Player Camp - Rice University
The residential camp for field players will focus on four principles of a complete player: physical, psychological, technical and tactical. The program will be intense, but will foster learning through a fun, competitive environment. Players begin each day with strength and agility exercises and then a technical session. After lunch, players will return to the field for our tactical session and small sided games. Each evening, competitive matches will be played, giving coaches the opportunity to observe the players understanding of the topics covered that day. Our staff will be comprised of only the top college, ODP and club coaches available. This camp is open to any and all boys and girls ages 12-18. **Please note that graduating high school seniors are now allowed to participate in summer camps where collegiate coaches are on staff. Come join coach John Brooks and his staff at the BYU Swimming Camp. Our camp offers four days of training and feedback. You will define your own specific needs as a competitive swimmer, determine personal training guidelines to meet these needs and then develop individual goals to increase your performance potential throughout the year. To help determine these guidelines, you will receive interval training evaluations and coach critiques specific to your needs. Throughout the week you will increase your performance potential through the use of drills, workout sets, time trials, competitions and video sessions. In class, you will discover the theory behind powerful, winning strokes. You will study detailed sequential movements of competitive strokes, learn fundamental competitive techniques, view contemporary training films and receive valuable feedback from the analysis of personal videotapes. In the pool you will undergo extensive drills, workout sets and time trials. You will review your personal videotaping in class to give you insight into your training strengths and weaknesses, helping you increase your competitive edge. Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game.
