Teen Photo Camp - Seattle, WA
Teens Camp (ages 13-18) If your teen is looking for a fun way to spend their summer, this is it! Students wil learn beginner photography with Mirroless cameras that wil be provided to them. Creative techniques will also be introduced to help enhance their skills and imaginations! Students are required to bring their own SD card to each class. Class Schedule: 10-10:30- In class demo 10:30-11- walk to location 11-12:30- shooting on location 12:30-1- lunch 1- 1:30- walk back to classroom 1:30- 2- Printing best shots of the day Monday: Students will be introduced to their cameras and photography basics. After the presentation we will walk to the Space needle to work on composition assignments. Back in class students will print their 3 best shots of the day. Tuesday: Today we will be going over aperture priority and depth of field. Class will head over to Lake Union. On the way back to class we will introduce bokeh and students will have the chance to try changing the shape of their bokeh in South Lake Union. Summer Youth Art Camp: Grade 1 Summer art camp is the perfect retreat for the young artist. A faculty of professional artists and art educators provide hands-on activities that expose students to a variety of artistic styles and art processes. Campers rotate by age group to different studio classes for drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Daily enrichment activities may include entertainment, movement/dance, presentations and games that explore different cultures and forms of art. Parents are asked to provide a daily lunch, snacks and beverage for their children. A reception and art exhibition is held on the last Friday of camp. Junior Lifeguarding Camp - Alga Norte - Alga Norte Community Park
Participants must be able to swim 50 yards of front crawl as well as 50 yards of breaststroke in good form. American Red Cross Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors will lead participants through two water sessions per day which will include group lectures on Aquatics Safety as well as introductions to Aquatic Sports. On the last day, participants will have the opportunity to use our giant inflatables and will take part in a Junior Lifeguarding Competition. Spring Break Program-Forest Park Elementary - Forest Park Elementary
IMPORTANT: Students need to bring their own laptop with mouse to attend this program. Snacks, Lunch, and beverages are NOT included. The program may be consolidated in one or two school sites based on enrollments. Parents will be informed at least one week prior to program start date. In this program, students learn about 3-D Printing, Vehicle engineering by rapid prototyping, and Computer Programming. They work in teams to build their own battery operated cars and race it on the final day. They learn 3-D modeling tools to make their own 3-D designs. Students will - 1. Learn how an engineer takes an idea from paper to a prototype. 2. Learn what is CAD/CAM and how it is used by Engineers. 3. Develop a design solution using given design constraints. 4. Evaluate competing conceptual design solutions for decision making 5. Plan and execute experiment; Collect and interpret data gathered by experiments; Use experimental data for an improved design solution 6. Learn about 3-D printing.
