We mix knowledge of outdoor and Dutch oven cooking, basic medical and emergency evacuation with river knowledge. Gymnastics camp at Prestige Gymnastics is the perfect opportunity to test out gymnastics or to get in a little extra practice! We will divide up beginners and intermediates at the time of class. This camp will work on a variety of drills and skills on all 4 Olympic events including vault, bars, beam and floor while gaining a multitude of knowledge in the basics of gymnastics. This camp is an awesome physical activity to get kids off of the couch and keep them moving during the summer! Super Heroes, Super Builders! - Hazen High School
The Super Heroes need your help to save the day! Create motorized vehicles using LEGO® components for the heroes to ride. Make the Batmobile, a flying craft for Supergirl, Captain Americas motorcycle, Iron Mans Quinjet, and the perfect ride for Spiderman. Each day, students have a mission to accomplish with the help of the project they build. We provide step-by-step instructions so students can incorporate motors and gears into their creations. Students then customize their projects and proceed on their missions. Students learn about the following mechanisms and systems as they build and play with their projects: •How gears control the speed and torque (power) of vehicles •How pulley systems transfer power to move objects •How you can change the direction of movement with bevel gears •How liftarms can be used to make strong attachments and add cool designs to creations •How to build fast-moving vehicles that stay together in crash tests •How to make Super Hero minifigures leap ten times their length in a single bound (really)! All About Me: Self Portraiture 3-5 (Monday) - Janney Elementary School
Students will learn how to create images of themselves while making self-portraits. They will practice close observation with mirrors as well as correct use of proportion, shading, and tone. Projects include realistic self-portraits in which students will attempt to achieve likeness and ab- stract portraits inspired by modern artists. FUNdamental Youth Football Camp - SHS Stadium
The Seymour Football FUNdamental Youth Football Camp will take place May 25-27th at Bulleit Stadium (SHS Campus). Wednesdays camp will be from 4-6PM, while Thursday and Fridays camp will be from 8:00-10:00AM. The camp is open to any student who will be in Kindergarten through 6th grade during the 2016-2017 school year. Pre-registered campers will receive a camp shirt. Walk-up registrations will be accepted. However, walk-up registration will not be guaranteed a camp shirt. Camp shirts will be issued to walk-up registrations on a first come, first served basis. The Seymour Football FUNdamental Youth Camp will introduce and refine the basic fundamental skills of the game of football. This is a NON-CONTACT camp. Proper techniques of blocking, throwing, catching, ball carrying, ball-security and route-running will be taught and developed. Safe and proper tackling techniques will be taught using padded practice dummies. No tackling of any players will take place during this camp. The emphasis of this camp is to develop basic skills and to have fun while learning the game of football.
