This football camp starts our young players with a love for the game and correct instruction to play the game. Young boys love to run and jump and play. Many of them also love to roll around and tussle. If you have such a boy, we would like to help him channel these natural inclinations into a love of the game of football, and to guide him in learning the fundamentals of how to run, throw, catch, kick, block, and tackle. Staffed by SCDS coaches and players the camp will guide youngsters toward an understanding of the basics. Campers will gain an understanding of football rules, terminology, and basic strategy. Each day will include individual instruction as well as competitive flag football games. Athletes of all experience levels are welcome and no equipment is required other than cleats/sneakers, athletic clothes and a willingness to play hard and have fun. Based out of the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center, campers will spend their mornings exploring and interacting with nature. Each session will have a new and exciting theme ranging from adventures with water to local animals. Campers will have the opportunity to spend one morning during the week away from the Visitor Center, exploring the many wonders of the Preserve. 845-255-0919

The Counselors presence at camp is an integral part of the summer camp experience for everyone. Ideally, we are looking for dynamic individuals who share a passion for camp, a love of working and who are seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus. It is important to keep in mind that this job in its simplest form is servant leadership. It is tiring, sometimes trying, and our focus as staff should not be on ourselves but on our campers. As staff of Cathedral Ridge summer camps, we are also representatives of the Episcopal Church in Colorado, and are working in a ministry that many people believe to be incredibly important in our Diocese. While the job of a camp counselor is not for the weary, it can be a very rewarding and enlightening experience.
