This annual leadership training camp is a gathering of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, allied, and intersex (LGBTQQAAI) designed and created by youth activists and allies who are dedicated to defeating homophobia and transphobia and creating brave, supportive schools for everyone. Camp is driven by young people. This year we are renting a huge camp at Cuivre River State Park with Cabins, Dinning Hall, Firepit and even a pool located just a little over an hour from St. Louis, MO next to Troy, MO. Clay Camp: Session 1/ Grades 9 - 12 Learn the basics of wheel-throwing on the pottery wheel and a variety of handbuilding techniques. Lessons include both functional objects created on the wheel and hand-built sculptural clay forms. Final projects will be completed using alternative outdoor firing processes including raku and smoke-firing. Learn about apex predators like orcas, sharks, giant squid, and osprey and find out some incredible strategies the prey of these predators utilize to avoid detection.
