LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Golf: Junior Half Day Summer Camp 7/11 - Offsite Location
Junior Half Day Golf Camp will teach the fundamentals of golf, the full swing, chipping, putting, rules and etiquette in a fun and creative learning environment. All golf lessons are held at Camarillo Springs Golf Course, located at 791 Camarillo Springs Road. If needed, golf clubs and balls can be provided to those who do not have their own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bring your receipt to the first class and arrive 5-10 minutes early. See instructor and sign waiver form at first class. If your class if outdoors, please dress for warm/cool weather and bring a water bottle. Class Refunds - If withdrawal/transfer from a program/class is made 5 business days prior to the start of a class there will be a full refund less a $10 administrative fee. If withdrawal is made less than 5 business days before the first day of the program, there will be no refund issued. Registrants failing to be present for the program will forfeit all fees paid. No refund will be issued for programs and activities where the registration cost is $10 or less. All refunds/transfers are subject to approval. Experimantamania is full of different experiments! Children will uncover the vital role that science plays in detective work, examine the science behind popular toys and get a buzz out of the amazing world of insects! Your Mad Scientists will explore Earth Science, weather phenomena, and experiment with some kitchen chemistry. You may add this late pick-up option to your campers Day Camp registration for an additional $15. This is only available Monday-Wednesday since Thursday is our overnight, and Friday has our parent program at 1:00. Sport Foundations Summer Basketball Camp - Fields/Diamonds/Gym/Courts
Sport Foundations Basketball Skills Academy one day camps are designed to teach and develop basketball skills, including fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense. Often times with AAU and travel basketball the focus of practice is more on "game play and plays". Developing great shooting technique is becoming a lost art. Footwork and ball handling is underdeveloped at the High School level. The fundamentals of basketball will be taught and then reinforced with a series of drills. The following offensive series will be taught and drilled: shooting, basket attack, low post moves, high post moves, ball handling, rebounding and defense. Sport Foundations will use recent research on focus of attention to create muscle memory responses that hold up to psychological and physical stress that occur in competition. The performance of basketball skills are based on motor learning and skill, not just repetition. This camp is for players who have had some basketball experience. Come enjoy a week of theatrical experiences including: playwriting, costume design, the actors process, and even performance! Students will work collaboratively to create a short play which will be performed at the end of the week. They will use both imagination and research to inform their artistic choices in everything from design work to acting. Additionally, students will explore improvisational theatre in both long and short forms as a means to stimulating the playwriting process and deepening their acting skills. Students with and without theatre backgrounds are invited to come explore, learn, and play! Rachel Wright is a passionate theatre educator who seeks to help her students grow their understanding and compassion for the world, life, and humanity through the magnificent practice of theatre. She has a BS in Theatre Arts Education from Appalachian State University. After college she moved to New York to pursue a career in theatre. She was accepted by Circle in the Square Theatre Conservatory Program where she concentrated on her craft. Upon graduating she began performing in countless off and off-off broadway productions.
