Greetings, friends! We want you to be a part of the Fox 61 “Send a Kid to Camp” Phone Bank, benefiting Hartford’s Camp Courant. The Phone Bank will air live from Fox 61 and WCCT (CW) on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 beginning from 9a.m. to 10a.m. and then returning from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Your support of this campaign will help Hartford’s Camp Courant and Fox 61 further their missions to support education-based programs for children throughout the greater Hartford community. Our goal is to raise $100,000 during the live four-hour televised fundraiser, which will help to enhance the summer experience for nearly 1,000 Hartford children this year. We have a long standing, aligned and focused partnership with Fox 61 who is dedicated to making a positive difference. Everything they do in the community will link directly to their mission of HOPE (Helping Organizations Promote Education) where they will focus their resources to maximize impact. FOX 61 builds bridges between Connecticut companies, nonprofit organizations, citizens and leaders to cultivate collaborative partnerships to inform, educate and inspire their viewers. Stitch Camp-Embroidery, Machine and Hand Sewing - Horizons K-8 School
Have you ever wished you knew how to sew? Learn sewing machine basics and how to embroider decorative stitches in this fun half-day camp. We will emphasize process as well as product so that students become confident stitchers. Students will work in small project groups to create interesting and functional items that reflect their personality. Everyone will sew and embroider their own pillow, a fabric-covered notebook, a tote bag, earbud caddies, and more. Students will also take home an embroidery sewing kit and project patterns. 2016 Operation Kids Camp at Camp Nawakwa "Supporting the Homefront Together Operation Kids Camp is unique and open to youth ages 8 to 14 years who have an active duty or retired military, veteran, police, fire fighter or EMT family member.
