LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Week 8: Day Camp Assistant Training (Leadership Development) - Camp Tanadoona
Day Camp Assistant (DCA) Training is the first step in Tanadoonas leadership development program. DCAs spend the first half of the week engaging in teambuilding workshops and interactive leadership training with lead camp staff. Training includes first aid, behavior management, specialty programming and basic counselor skills. DCAs immediately apply their training when they are partnered with Tanadoona Counselors to assist with Day Camp groups during the second half of the week. Staying overnight on Thursday to help with the Thursday Overnight campers provides additional experiential learning. We recommend a minimum of two years of DCA before progressing to CIT. 612-235-7284

Teens Camp (ages 13-18) If your teen is looking for a fun way to spend their summer, this is it! Students wil learn beginner photography with Mirroless cameras that wil be provided to them. Creative techniques will also be introduced to help enhance their skills and imaginations! Students are required to bring their own SD card to each class. Class Schedule: 10-10:30- In class demo 10:30-11- walk to location 11-12:30- shooting on location 12:30-1- lunch 1- 1:30- walk back to classroom 1:30- 2- Printing best shots of the day Monday: Students will be introduced to their cameras and photography basics. After the presentation we will walk to the Space needle to work on composition assignments. Back in class students will print their 3 best shots of the day. Tuesday: Today we will be going over aperture priority and depth of field. Class will head over to Lake Union. On the way back to class we will introduce bokeh and students will have the chance to try changing the shape of their bokeh in South Lake Union. The Moose is a classic northeast creek. Big drops with multiple options for cool new lines. Intermediate and advanced boaters are welcome! Boat demos will be available from Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company, and paddles will be available for demo from Werner Paddles. Friday: Evening: Arrive at Fowlersville put-in and set up camp. Drinks and food around a campfire Saturday: Morning first timers run. Creeking clinics will be available. Wild Outdoors Adventure Nature Camp - EcoAdventures
Wild Outdoors Adventure Nature Camp July 5th – 7th 9am – 4pm $245 Ages 8+ *limited participants to go in our Snake ECO Van Campers will experience the wild outdoors with this specialty camp. They will spend the day at one of our local parks (Kinder Farm, Quiet Waters/Downs Park, Sandy Point). We will be hitting the trails and learning compass, navigation, survival, & animal tracking skills. Knot tying is also in order for this camp. Campers will get a chance to go fishing and make their very own fishing poles. Try your luck at crabbing and maybe even kayaking? Set up turtle traps and help with turtle research at Kinder Farm Park, then make a splash with catching critters through seining and seeing what is out in our own Chesapeake Bay. The Fox Den Junior Golf League is designed for junior golfers between the ages of 10 & 17 who are eager to take their abilities onto the golf course.
