What Is the Difference between Day and Overnight Summer Camp?
An overnight program is commonly called sleep-away camp. Youth go away for a period of time and sleep in cabins or tents with their camp counselors and other campers. Overnight camps are structured to offer kids a variety of activities and to increase kids’ independence, self-esteem and social skills. Many overnight programs include field trips, treks or community service opportunities in addition to traditional activities like swimming and arts and crafts. Film Premiere Stages for Youth Summer Film Camp - Cincinnati, OH
***PLEASE NOTE VENUE CHANGE*** Join Stages For Youth in celebrating the accomplishments of 30 young filmmakers who attended the 2016 Stages For Youth summer film bootcamp. Participants, ages 12 to 19, from SCPA, Springer, Clark, Walnut, Bethany House, Seven Hills, Mercy, Purcell, Waldorf, Aiken, Withrow, as well as home educated, YWCA Rosie’s Girls and The Squash Academy came to Stages For Youth and were challenged...to make a short film…in only 2 weeks! Along the way they learned the film craft, they created, collaborated, debated, negotiated, and problem solved…and all came away with mission accomplished, a testament to their creativity, resolve, teamwork, and spirit. Movies will start around 8:30 PM in beautiful Union Hall. Total run time is about one hour and will be followed by awards. We have a hundred chairs and then some, so please bring your friends. This is a free, public, family event and all are welcome!

Acoma Bears A, Full Day - Hopkins Campus
Join Camp Acoma Bears for a summer of action, creation and relaxation in six unique sessions. Local field trips serve as capstones and opportunities for more hands-on learning and adventure. A foundation of Camp Acoma is developing strong relationships with other campers and counselors. Blake faculty and counselors who are caring role models with unique talents lead Camp Acoma. Our counselor-to-student ratio is below 1:8. Dedicated arts and physical education faculty deepen athletic and artistic experiences throughout each session. Please pack a nut-free lunch, afternoon snack and water bottle for your child each day. Refrigerators and microwaves are not available. Camp Acoma Bears takes full advantage of Blakes rolling acres, pool (Hopkins campus only), gymnasium, ice arena (Hopkins campus only) and nearby lakes. Each session offers hours of swimming lessons and water-based activities. A personalized swim assessment guides the instruction of each child and Red Cross Certified lifeguards serve as instructors. New or reluctant swimmers will be guided gently in water adjustment and learn-to-swim exercises. Ice skating in Blakes arena will be offered twice a week (Hopkins campus only). Adaptive Sports and Fitness Camp - Broadway Recreation Center
Get up off the couch! Athletes will have the opportunity to try new sports and games or have fun perfecting the ones they already love, while staying fit. Sports may include: volleyball, kickball, basketball, flag football, and pickle ball. Athletes should wear loose comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Session I: Summer PE/Health - TRINITY ACADEMY
Class will meet Monday-Friday each week. The class will not meet on Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day). Students will learn the concepts and play of team sports. Also, gain an understanding of diet, major bones and muscles, and first aid training. Each student must wear a PE uniform during class. PE uniforms are included in the cost for the class and will be ordered during checkout of this class registration. Students will receive them the first day of class. 316-634-0909

Sketch 2 - TBA - Writers Room - iO West
