The Youth Elite camp is designed for the advanced player who wants to continue to improve their skill to take them to the next level. The High School Elite camp is designed for the high school player who has aspirations to play college soccer. Players will have training sessions as well as play in small-sided and full-sided games while being evaluated by the University of Maryland Mens Soccer Staff. Several coaches from various colleges and universities will also be present. Projects will include some major clean-up work, such as clearing brush and building fire lines, fix-up jobs, wood cutting, simple construction and other needed repairs or improvements to camp facilities and grounds. As part of an American University research project, School of Education professors have partnered with Janney Elementary School to test enduring understanding in reading as well as in mathematics in third grade students. During the sessions, third grade students will participate alongside our friends Poly and Gon in enriching activities and games in which they will be challenged to think outside the box by practicing problem solving and pattern identification skills. All lessons, activities, and games will be created and directed by American University student teachers for Janney third graders.
