Learn about the process of taking an idea from concept, to drawing, to a printable 3D model. Students will spend the first part of the course at Ah Haa exploring both geometric and organic drafting by hand and discussing how to create art for the printing process. The course will then move to Pinhead, where students will learn how to turn their art into computerized 3D models using Solidworks. Their drawings of jewelry, ornaments, sculptures, and more will then be brought to life with Pinheads 3D printer. 970.728.3886

Rogue Robots: LEGO Robotics Camp - San Angelo, TX
Robots aren’t just inventions in a galaxy far, far away— they exist here on Earth, at your local library! Join us this Winter Break for a Star Wars-themed robotics camp. Each day we’ll watch a clip from the movies, and build a LEGO robot inspired by the film. The library will be hosting two four-day camps—attending all four days is not mandatory, but each class will build upon the previous classes. No prior experience in LEGO robotics necessary, but seating is limited so RSVP is required. Call (325-655-7321), email ([email protected]), Facebook message (TGCL Teen Republic), or drop by in person to reserve seats! Sign-ups will open November 21! This is a Teen Republic program, open only to patrons in grades 6-12. Free of charge. We will meet from 3-4:30pm in the Community Room.

We will stay at Gilmore Camp, in Malibu Creek State Park. This camp is a part of the Salvation's Army Mt. Crags & Gilmore Camp & Conference Center in Calabasas http://campmtcrags.com. Located in the heart of Malibu Canyon, this camp provides life changing experiences with various activities on site in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. We are of course also just a short car ride away from the world famous Malibu beaches! We are 1 hr North of LAX, 2.5hr from San Diego, 5.5 hr drive from SF or Sacramento and 7.5 hrs from Reno. Programming with Alice - British International School of Charlotte
Alice is a fun, innovative, and educational software from Carnegie Mellon Institute, designed to expose students to object-oriented programming. Using a gallery of 3D characters and scenery, Alice allows students to learn fundamental programming concepts in the context of creating animated stories, movies, simple games, and even virtual pets! In Alice, 3-D objects (e.g., people, animals, and vehicles) populate a virtual world and students animate the objects and program social interactions between characters. In Alices interactive interface, students drag and drop graphic tiles to create a program, where the instructions correspond to standard statements in a production oriented programming language, such as Java, C++, and C#. Alice allows students to immediately see how their animation programs run, enabling them to easily understand the relationship between the programming statements and the behavior of objects in their animation. Learn the basics of chess and improve your skills and concentration. Discover the origins of this fun game while enhancing your pattern recognition and self-discipline as you practice. Create your own board and pieces as a take-home keepsake. Up to the challenge? *Please note: Students who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp within the same week are invited to stay for FREE supervised lunch and recess between 11:30 am-12:30 pm. This camp will explore subjects such a s animal behavior, biology, food chain, and the importance of biodiversity and conservation. Under close adult supervision there will be hands on interaction with real, live animals. Each day will feature a new animal friend, such as a reptile, amphibian, mammal, bird, or arthropod. Camp will include education, game, crafts, stories, and creative play. Please send a healthy snack with your child each day. Campers must be able to manage toileting & dressing needs independently; and have not yet attended kindergarten. Daily nutritious snacks are provided. All campers should wear their swimsuit under their shorts for times of water play and bring a towel for drying off after fun in the sprinkler. Skippity-Do-Dah campers will delight in weekly themes: Week 1 – Blast Off to Outer Space!
