LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Camp:Summer Playground-Caldwell Park 2016 - Concord Parks and Recreation
This camp is for 6-10 year olds. Camp operates June 20 through August 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program is geared to motivate and stimulate the participants willingness to learn through field trips and age appropriate activities and much more! Fee includes most trips and program offerings. Pre-registration is required. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Registration for 2015 RETURNERS will be Wed 1/13/16 thru Midnight 1/17/2016 by ONLINE reg and from 8:00 a.m.-5:00pm by WALK-IN until Friday 1/15/16. Registration for NEW Campers that are CITY OF CONCORD RESIDENTS , (residing in city limits of Concord) will begin on Wed 1/20/16 thru Midnight 1/24/16 by ONLINE and from 8:00am-5:00pm by WALK-IN until 1/22/16. Registration opens to the Public Wed 2/3/16 at 8:00am by both online and walk-in registration. Customer service may not be available after 5:00 p.m. $100.00 deposit is due at registration with balance due by June 3. No refunds after 6/3/16. Any past due balances must be paid prior to or at time of registration. Fees include most trips and program offerings. Free Summer Horse Day Camp for Kids, Week 8 of 9 - Lacomb, OR
This is not your typical day camp! Kids learn how to get big jobs done and earn big rewards through our framework of barn, garden, and community activities. Our mixture of work, learning, and play develops character, leadership, and real-world skills. Kids start the morning cleaning stalls and doing other jobs, then have a well-supervised fellowship lunch, then ride or do other horse activities in the afternoon. For the kids that are interested in doing other things doing the horsemanship time, we have interesting building or maintenance projects as well as gardening. Sometimes we have someone come share an aspect of their career, or we will go on a field trip to a business, and sometimes we need to go pick up hay or other donations as part of the camp day. Toward the end of the day as parents arrive, we usually do a short devotion that gives kids the chance to tell how they illustrated a positive characteristic that day. Parents and kids should attend a 90-minute tour and orientation prior to enrolling, you just call us and schedule a time. Learn to turn your own baseball bat. Students will learn the basics of wood spindle turning. Learn safe shop practices and procedures that will make woodturning safe and fun. Students will take home a baseball bat. Students will walk away with a basic understanding of how to operate and maintain a wood lathe and wood turning tools. Students will be allowed open studio time on Sundays during the week of class. On this day, students are welcome to come to the shop and use the tools to catch up and refine the classroom project. Costa Rican Jungle Animals Week 1 - Adat Ari El Day School
Explore the Majesty of Costa Ricas Jungle Animals & Learn Spanish Campers explore the dynamic jungle of Costa Rica. The colorful and intriguing animals are extraordinary and will magically ‘transport campers to the ‘jungle where it is super fun to speak Spanish. During this week campers get to build a large scale ‘time travel machine out of recyclable materials. Campers play active & quiet games, create, sing songs, act, dance, cook, play sports, and discover the joys of learning Spanish through various activities. Theme vocabulary includes colors, verbs, nouns, adjectives all about these animals and their unique features. CELEBRATION DAY: WEDNESDAY (always optional)- Go Wild Day Come to camp dressed in your favorite animal prints or animal tees. April 26 - June 2 - PRO 3:5 Sports Academy
Our training sessions are creative and geared toward maintaining a fun yet challenging and competitive atmosphere. We understand that athletes need to not only be pushed to their limits, but they must enjoy what they are doing if they are to truly benefit from it. The program utilizes a combination of speed, acceleration, and agility drills coupled with power and strength exercises in a structured and controlled environment. These young athletes will learn and sharpen their skills in the mechanics of running, agility, and footwork, while being introduced to various pieces of speed and agility training equipment throughout the facility. Low-intensity strength training is emphasized with exercises involving the athletes own body weight, and power is developed through the application of plyometrics.
