This program is offered for children in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade and operates from 2:00pm-5:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Afternoon Explorations Camp is much more than a place to send your child in the afternoon; this camp involves structured weeks that incorporate hands-on activities and weekly outside activities related to that weeks theme. Rock Band Camp @ SMCC - San Marcos Community Center
Students will learn how to play basic drum, guitar, bass and piano riffs to various lyric-appropriate (parent-approved) rock/pop songs of their choice. Classes will include ear training, learning to read music notation, instrumental techniques, viewing music video clips for inspiration, and more! No experience necessary, but welcomed! Instruments will be provided to share, but bring any that you have from home. Time will be allotted each day for a snack and water break. A short performance will take place on Friday at the end of class from 11:40-Noon where students will have the opportunity to sing and/or play different instruments for the songs we have been developing throughout the week. 20% sibling discount.
