Girl Scout Sunday: Toy Hack - The Mini Maker
Patch Included During our Toy Hack sessions your kids are given a selection of old toys, such as, a GI Joe, Barbie Doll, Legos, Dinosaur figures, ect. Your kids use basic tools like a screw driver to "hack" the toys apart. Then with the use of tape, pipe cleaners, or glue gun the kids are able to reuse and recycle the pieces and create a new toy with them. For example: A Barbie Doll body with a T-Rex Head and Zombie Foot. During this session the kids are also asked to use their imaginations to create a story around the figure they have created. This workshop is open to Daisys, Brownies and Juniors. 517-233-1524

You See Dirt, We See Art! - Emma Davidson - Touchstone Center for Crafts
Take a step into a whimsical world of creation and imagination when you enter Touchstones enchanted forest. You will embark on a journey between worlds, as we create beautiful art from nature. Whether you are painting with mud or building a collaborative sculpture, this week of wonder and intrigue is one you dont want to miss! Working outside and in the studio, individually and collaboratively, you will end this week with greater art making skills and a better understanding of our surrounding world. Emma Davidson earned her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Between 2012 and 2015, she was on staff at Touchstone Center for Crafts and worked as a teaching artist for various organizations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Currently, Emma is living Juneau, Alaska, where she is enjoying a year-long, dual art and teaching residency at the Canvas. Her artwork has exhibited in several states and are part of SCADs permanent collection. 724-329-1370

Ever wanted to make a giant life-size connect four or foosball table? Well now you can! Get your hard hats on and design your own backyard board game! Your innovation is only limited by your imagination. During the week kids will be challenged to think outside the box and create other Maker projects such as animatronics, LED throwies and other cool builds! We will even have a human hungry hippo challenge! 8 Classes Calling all silly kids! Join us for a fun filled drama class that will have your kids splitting their sides with laughter while acting out amazing scenarios. Students will learn the ropes of good improvisation skills while exploring these kooky characters and silly stories. Improvisation will help them gain confidence, think on their feet, and work as an ensemble to tell a story. This class is perfect for the shy student who needs to be comfortable in front of the class or the class clown who has some wacky characters up their sleeves.
