Teen Summer Garden Camp - Carlisle, PA
Cumberland County, PA – New this summer, a horticulture program designed just for teens! Join the Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for their first-ever Teen Summer Garden Camp on two Mondays, June 20 and June 27, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at the Penn State Extension Office in Carlisle and the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA, this fun-filled camp offers teens ages 13-15, or in grades 7-9, the ability to explore and discover the “behind-the-scenes” of a garden. The first camp session on June 20 offers teens the opportunity to delve deeper into horticulture topics and engage in hands-on learning about the scientific method, photosynthesis, chromatography, soils, microscope skills, and plant identification. Teens will also build their very own gourd birdhouse. Come prepared for plenty of exploration, observations, activities and discussions! For the second camp session on June 27, teens will travel to the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA. In 2016, the AKA All Sports Camp will be entering its 11th summer at the National Sports Center in Blaine and kids everywhere will be screaming for more FUN!! (See schedule at the bottom here) Kids can sign up for the full summer program or choose sport weeks that they prefer or that fit with your busy summer schedule! The 2015 Summer program at the NSC again reached capacity... the 2016 AKA ASC at the National Sports Center will fill up in the winter, without a doubt!
