This Boy Scout Ranch Camp was established in 1983. My 14 year old son would not miss signing up for this summer camp. Nestled in over 200 miles of rugged country it is the perfect place to camp and explore nature. Our son liked the diverse topography of the land. ideaventions® Mini Einsteins (Ages 3-6) Its never too early to start learning about science. Mini Einsteins® is a creative introduction to STEM that takes preschoolers through a variety of STEM activities aimed at learning beginning concepts of science, technology and engineering, with a tie in to literature and math. Children become immersed in the topics as they are exposed to the vocabulary, lab equipment, scientific process and engineering design cycle in a fun and engaging environment. In this 8-week exploration (#2), we will investigate Ink, jump into Jets, cook up some Kitchen chemistry, look into Light, manipulate Motion, need our Noses, observe Oxygen, and play around with Pressure. For children entering 1st grade: YOUNG EXPLORERS SUMMER BLAST! at Oakwood is an afternoon program designed specifically to engage young children (ages PreK –1st grade) in activities that will unlock their imagination. When Young Explorers pass through the class- room door, they will instantly be launched into new and exciting worlds. One day the children may discover that they are knights who have been trusted to protect the castle from re-breathing dragons, and the next they may find that they have been transformed into a pit crew on the side of a great auto speedway. Children may find themselves on the infamous Jolly Roger, swabbing the deck and walking the plank, or they may discover that they are astronauts flying past the Milky Way. The possibilities are endless at Young Explorers Summer BLAST!! Young Explorers Summer BLAST! is run by creative and enthusiastic adult teachers who are assisted by junior counselors. How do stack up against the best? Now its your chance to prove it in this animal vs. kid smack down! How do you size up running against a Komodo Dragon? Can you hold your breath as long as a giant sea turtle? Pull as hard as a giant octopus, or bite as hard as a croc? EcoAdventures will provide the outdoor and indoor Arena you bring the skills. This August, its kids against beasts in a battle on the wild side. This is NO ordinary Olympics here at EcoAdventures. We will challenge you both physically and mentally. Do you have what it takes to lay down in cockroaches, eat bugs, race and alligator? We cant wait to see who wins GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE! Field trip: Easy Rider Horse Ranch Hanover, MD Learn about Equestrian science, riding, training, husbandry, and go on a pony ride or TRAIL ride and groom horses. Participants in Discovery Camp will engage in sports, art classes, swimming lessons, open swim, movie day and weekly field trips. There will be plenty of fun had by all. Participants provide their own sack lunch, swimsuit, towel, movie concession money. Snacks, swim instruction, open swim, all classes, movie admission and field trips are included. No camp July 4. Payment Plan Terms: A $100 deposit per camper and a $10 payment plan processing fee must be paid in full at registration. Remaining camp balance must be paid in full by Monday, June 6, 2016 to attend camp. Contact Recreation & Parks Department for more information. On-line registration for camps is not available. Refund requests made prior to the start date of a program will be cheerfully given less a 5% refund fee.
