Ages: 6 -12 years Instructor: Peg Weis Monday - Friday, 3:00pm -6:00pm, see dates below Location: Sherwood Center Campers explore projects of their own design with LEGO cars, animals, and castle pieces, specialty accessories and mini-figures. Small groups rotate through separate theme of the day build including Star Wars, Ninjago, MINECRAFT, Harry Potter, Castle Fortress or Pirate. Campers let your curiosity run wild with hands-on science activities, crafts and guided exploration of our beautiful outdoor venue at Vasona County Lake Park in Los Gatos! Join us to dig into the fundamentals of botany by planting seeds and investigating the basics of plant life. What about the world below ground? Take a closer look at worms and learn about the importance of bees as pollinators and learn how these incredible creatures communicate. Also actively experiment with solids and liquids to learn more about states of matter. The San Jose Museum of Art, full-day art camps offer in-depth art experiences for South Bay youth. Our campers gain access to the Museums galleries outside of normal operating hours as they discover artistic design principles through drawing, painting, and sculpting techniques! Led by Museum faculty and inspired by our current exhibitions, the Museums popular Art Camps teach kids how to look at, talk about, and create their own art. Each student receives an art supply kit containing all the materials they need, and the camp culminates in a one-day public exhibition of student work. Young artists explore drawing, painting mixed media, sculpture, and design as they visit the galleries to gather inspiration from exhibited artwork.
