WHAT IS GIRLS ROCK CAMP? Girls Rock Camp is an intensive one-week day camp offered to girls ages 6-15 at The Garden Street Academy, M-F, 9-3 pm, where campers of all skill levels have the opportunity to learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals, or other instruments. Campers will also form a band, write an original song, and perform at the Final Showcase for friends, families, and fans! In addition to all this, campers will have the opportunity to meet other girls and female musicians and mentors, as well as participate in enrichment activities such as workshops on media literacy or screen-printing. GRSB! welcomes campers that identify as female, trans, and gender-nonconforming. 805-861-8128

This camp will introduce Modern and Contemporary movement to each student. Contemporary choreography will be presented along with classical technique to advance the dancer's knowledge. A dance showcase will be offered for the families on the final Saturday at 2pm. Them One Guys Car Club is hosting our 5th annual fundraiser car show on Saturday, June 11th 2016 in K-Mart parking lot at 4651 S. US HWY 41 in Terre Haute, IN 47802. All proceeds will be donated to Boy Scout Troop 504 to help them pay for camp and other trips and supplies. Troop 504 will have a free will donation concession stand and are hand making the awards to be given to the winner of each class. The winners of each class will be determined by the spectators' popular vote and there will also be a scouts choice award which will be determined by the popular vote of Boy Scouts of any troop who come to the car show with their BSA membership card or Class A shirt on. There will be a $10 fee for early bird registration or day of show fee of $15 to enter cars, trucks or motorcycles. The first 25 will recieve a dash plaque! Registration will begin at 9:00 am and continue through 11:00 am, Show and voting will begin at 11:00 am and continue until 2:00 pm. Awards presentation will follow promptly after 2:00 pm. Returning to Teen Camp - undefined, CA
In the summer of 2014, I did something I never really thought I was called to do: work with TEENS. Being 21 at the time, I still considered myself one. Me? Being paired up with a 14-year old girl? Confronting normal teen issues paired with the difficulty that comes hand in hand while being in the foster system? Definitely a challenge. Not just zip-ling fun and games. (Also, I came home with crutches that year. FROM TRIPPING IN THE CAFETERIA. Hangry?) However, seeing how camp is something these kids/teens look forward to every year and how a weekend in the woods reminds them they are loved and adored is invaluable. Being with older and wiser counselors also inspired me because seeing the way they love unconditionally inspires me to not be selfish with my time and personal ambitions. These kids, this camp. It means something. A safe place with the ability to change lives long term. I'm proud to say that I'm returning to Teen Camp this year and it would be amazing to share the stories from last time with you (when I get a blog post up.) The High School Advanced Camp is designed to create a highly competitive environment with the majority of our campers planning on pursuing a college baseball career. Mornings typically concentrate on drills and position work, while the afternoon and evening sessions feature actual games. Check-in will be held Sunday morning with evaluation sessions that morning and afternoon and a skills session that evening. Monday will feature morning skill instruction and games in the afternoon and evening. Tuesday will feature games followed by a late afternoon check-out. The High School Camp has featured representatives from the following schools in past years: Georgetown, Richmond, Lafayette, Brown, Columbia, Bucknell, Wesleyan, Haverford, Swarthmore, Davidson, Franklin & Marshall, University of New Haven, Dickinson, Bates, and Cornell. **The names of coaches in attendance will be given after check-in on Sunday.
