Students will write a script, produce, direct, film, and star in a movie in our exciting 1 week camp! Beginning the first day campers will create a story, develop characters, design sets, even work on costumes and make-up. They will then get a crash course in camera work and filming techniques using digital video equipment. Putting all the skills together, students make a movie! Each participant receives a finished copy of the film. 817-421-2825

No. Will we write similes about the smell of a campfire, or lengthy descriptions of that one camp counselor who wears knee socks and a fanny pack? Perhaps. Join Kirsten Casey for five days of writing delight: creating poetry, characters, flash fiction pieces, and more. We will write everyday from 1-4 using a variety of prompts, strengthening our attention to detail, sharing our work, and eating candy. Kirsten Casey is a local California Poet in the Schools, who has been teaching creative writing to students in the area for over ten years. She earned her Masters in Creative Writing from San Francisco State, and you can find her work in the anthology Yuba Flows, and her own book of poetry, Ex Vivo: Out of the Living Body.
