Projects designed specifically for teens ages 13-17... learn about sewing, how to read patterns, how to use a sewing machine, different stitch options, etc. We will be making projects during the week (Monday-Thursday 10am-4pm) and then having a "showcase" party on Friday July 31st from 12-2pm to show off what the teens have made. ***Kids will need a sack lunch*** *** Sewing machines are available to rent if you don't have one... a $10 per day rental fee applies and we must know BEFORE the class starts if your child needs to rent a machine***

This summer we will be going to camp on week 10. That will be August 3rd – 8th. The evangelist will be Tom Farrell. Every teen and junior is invited to join us for summer camp. Teen campers must be 12 years old by September 1, 2015 and junior campers must be at least 9 years old by September 1, 2015. The cost for teen campers is $345.00, if you register before February 1st you will save $50.00 The cost for junior camp is $335.00, if you register before February 1st you will save $50.00 This year you can register online and just be sure to join your registration up with Calvary Baptist Church of New Bern.

(NEW) Wood Turning 1: Make a Baseball Bat (855 W16) - Former Adrian Training School
Learn to turn your own baseball bat. Students will learn the basics of wood spindle turning. Learn safe shop practices and procedures that will make woodturning safe and fun. Students will take home a baseball bat. Students will walk away with a basic understanding of how to operate and maintain a wood lathe and wood turning tools. Students will be allowed open studio time on Sundays during the week of class. On this day, students are welcome to come to the shop and use the tools to catch up and refine the classroom project. As the annual Maker Faire Bay Area occurs this month, we wanted to provide a workshop that captures the spirit of Making. Participants will be inspired as they work on a do it yourself (DIY) project supported by CuriOdyssey education staff. Individual Week / Add on Registration Here (2016 AKA SOP SCHEDULE BELOW) AKASPORTs Speed of Play: Leadership through Fitness Program, is led by AKA Director, Chris Schulz and the AKA professional training Staff. Participants enrolled in the AKA Speed of Play (SOP program), in partnership with the AKA All Sports Camp (ages 6-12), will offer adolescents an opportunity to be active, train and play in an All Sports setting geared to teach them leadership qualities with personal mentorship opportunities. The base of the Speed of Play program is from 9:00am-4:00pm and the doors are open for all Speed of Play participants from 7:00am-6:00pm, the same hours of the AKA All Sports Camp so you can take advantage of supervised activity time the entire day. Invest in your future performance through proper training from dedicated professionals who know how to motivate and bring out the best in you.
