Youth Development Summer Camp Car and Truck Show - Concord, NC
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, Youth and Development Division, will be hosting a Car & Truck Show on Saturday, April 16, 2016 with all the proceeds going to benefit the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Youth Development Summer Camp. The Youth Development Summer Camp provides At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County with a week-long camp experience. This year, we will be expanding our summer camp experience to include three, 1 week sessions that will impact over 120 At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County. During a typical week of summer camp, At Risk Youth interact with police officers in a positive learning environment. Some of the camp activities include bowling, fishing, mini golf, swimming, along with trips to the zoo and local movie theaters to name a few. Interlaced within these activities are structured lessons which teach about the dangers of bullying, internet safety, gun safety, peer pressure, and drug abuse. In today’s society, now more than ever, we need positive role models for our youth. The School Resource Officers of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office are effective, positive, motivational, role models for these At Risk Youth. PLEASE COME OUT ON APRIL 16TH AND SUPPORT THIS WORTHY CAUSE.

Snowy Daze - Old Trail School
Its snowing in June! Inspired by the movie Frozen, campers will explore all things snowy... summer style! Building a snowless snowman, taking a field trip to an ice cream shop, designing their own mittens, ice skating, creating snow dough, making snow cones, and more! Frozen songs, stories and games will have campers relive the magic of Elsa, Anna and Olaf and other friends from Arendelle! CIT GMC 1 - Judson Baptist Retreat Center
A JBRC Camp Counselor-In-Training must be a Christian; pleasant toward campers, counselors, and fellow workers. Must be willing to work hard and go the extra mile. Must have a servants heart!. A CIT will be assigned to a JBRC Staffer and will undergird her work. She will not be allowed to have the full responsibility of the cabin, but will observe, learn and help keep the cabin running smoothly. Dancing With Degas - Spiva Center for the Arts
In this interdisciplinary class, students will look at and analyze the work of Edgar Degas. Students will experiment with similar postures, movements and phrases in relation to Degas work. This is a great opportunity for students to re-interpret the artwork through movement. No dance experience required. Students should wear comfortable clothing and socks. Outdoor Literacy & Hiking - Palm Harbor Montessori Academy
Hone your outdoor skills at local area parks. While on their daytime hikes, campers will learn to read a map, orient with a compass, practice wilderness survival skills, build a fire and more.
