Teen Camp - Escondido, CA
Projected registration opening date: April 5, 2017 Teen Camp is open to all teens with or without previous experience with mindfulness, meditation, or camping. This is a special time for all teenagers–please come and join! During this retreat, we will come together as brothers and sisters to develop skills that help us learn to be alive in the present moment and to connect deeply with ourselves and others. When we learn to be mindful, a whole new world appears. Activities will include walking meditation, eating in mindfulness, participating in periods of noble silence, sitting meditation, dharma presentations, sharing in groups, Deep Relaxation Meditation, joyful service, games, and hiking. Other activities we may include are morning exercise, drinking tea meditation, and a performance night. We will stay in large tents (around 5 teens per tent). Teen girls will be assigned to a tent in Clarity Hamlet Oak Grove and teen boys to a tent in the Solidity Hamlet Campground. There will be monastic and lay staff members staying in both campgrounds. The monastery will provide tents, but we ask everyone to bring their own sleeping bags and sleeping mats. Participants are expected to attend the entire retreat and all activities. This will be our 3rd consecutive December hosting a Coat-A-Kid Charity BootCamp! Come out to support an awesome charity, have fun and get your sweat on... that is unless you hate kids! ;) All fitness levels are welcome! Classes are 1 hour and begin at 8am & 9:30am. Max 20 people per group so be sure to sign up in advance! $20/person (you can pay at the door or in advance). The $20 donation will cover the cost of a NEW coat, gloves and hat for 1 child. TO REGISTER: 1) We have a sign up sheet at the gym. 2) Email us at [email protected] and let us know which time you would like to attend. Coat-A-Kid provides new coats, hats and gloves, free of charge, to kids in need in the St. Louis area. They are 100% volunteer run, so 100% of the proceeds go to coating children!

I Troop Camping May 6, 7 & 8 - Sandy Ridge
Spend some time camping with your Girl Scout Troop at Sandy Ridge! Price includes accommodations at Sandy Ridge. Troop is responsible for food and programming during their stay. Troop leaders are required to have specific trainings to camp overnight with their Troop at Sandy Ridge. Please contact Michaela Watts at 843-552-9910 ext. 2390 or for more information on training. Troops must have approval by GSESC to overnight camp at Sandy Ridge. A Trip Approval Form must be submitted to your Regional Volunteer Services Specialist (VSS) at least three weeks prior to reservation date. Please note prices listed are for a two-night Girl Scout rental of living unit. Contact Chuck Iler to request a one-night rental. Outside group rental prices are different. Equestrian Camps - Horseback Riding - Camp Olympia
Children will ride twice a day 4 times per week, swim every day, and do various unmounted horse activities including leading horses, unsaddling, grooming, bathing, cleaning tack, plus general barn responsibilities. There is no riding on Thursdays (horses much deserved day off- try running around in 90+ degree weather with a fur coat on), but the kids will have unmounted horse activities such as those listed above and have the opportunity to play Camp Game, traditional favorite. Long pants, smooth, hard soled shoes, bathing suit, towel, and lunch are needed every day. All camp forms must be completed and received by Camp Olympia before camper can attend this program.
