What is Youth Councils? Youth Councils is a three day retreat specifically for Jr. High, High School and college age youth to be challenged and strengthened in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Who can attend Youth Councils? We have two tracks to set up so that we can tailor everything to the specific needs of your youth. To attend the Jr. High Track, youth must be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade by April 10, 2015. In order to be in the High School Track, youth need to be in 9th grade-age 25 by that same date. When is Youth Councils 2015? Youth Councils 2015 is being held from April 10-12, 2015 at Wonderland Camp & Conference Center. What is the theme for Youth Councils 2015? The theme is RISE ABOVE, and it’s based on Colossians 3:1 (NASB): “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God." The Teen Girl Retreat, hosted by Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Pineville, Arkansas, will be March 11th-12th at Budd Creek Baptist Camp. Registration will be on the 11th 5:30-7:00. Strummin For Fun Ages 7-11 Beginner and intermediate players welcome! Well learn the basics of guitar playing by engaging in fun musical games and creative group activities. Our lessons will include learning to play melody by reading notation and TAB, chords and mini-chords, strumming patterns, song form, improvisation, songwriting and singing, and an exploration of various guitar styles. Ok, you arent thinking shells are ferocious are you? Youre thinking theyre beautiful and graceful? Well lightning whelks are beautiful and ferocious. Theyre also pretty fascinating! Lets snip open a lightning whelk egg case (youve probably seen one but didnt know what it was) and look at the hundreds of tiny whelks and the way they grow in a spiral. Lets do some spiralling art and dig down in the sand and pump water out the way whelks do. And lets look at how these creatures hunt! And for all you lefties out there, this is your shell! These whelks open to the left side while most of the other shells around here open to the right! (239) 472-8585
