Scratch Programming - 10AM - The Digital Arts Experience
Scratch is a tile-based visual programming language developed by MIT that helps teach the logic and problem solving that drive computer programming. Scratch uses command blocks instead of code, and can be used to create interactive stories animations, video games and much more. This class is designed to give younger students an introduction to programming through fun, exciting, and interactive projects. BOSS Camp - Session 2 - Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center
BOSS CAMP: The Sky is Falling - This 2 week, full day camp will be an amazing opportunity for your performer to participate in a full childrens theater production from start to finish. We will have a limited number of spots available. The first day of camp will be your audition and parts will be assigned at the beginning of the 2nd day of camp. The Sky is Falling is the story of a very scared chicken, named Chicken Little. Follow his adventure as he meets many of our favorite fairytale creatures including Jack & Jill, the 3 blind mice, old McDonald and much more! Spring Break Speed and Agility Camp - Parker Recreation Center
Led by our nationally certified coaches, this camp will enable young athletes to develop explosive power and increase vertical jump, strength, flexibility, and overall speed, while decreasing the risk of injury. Professional Scene Study (Sp16JUN) - Aquila Morong Studio
This class is an "actors gymnasium," where you will be asked to follow direction, learn what directors look for on set, and get invaluable feedback on your work. Donna Morong, noted Casting Director and Acting Teacher, will provide feedback alongside a guest director as you are filmed performing scenes from film and TV. Students will learn how to work on-set under pressure in a simulated professional environment. Previous directors include: Randall Zisk (Scandal, The Mentalist, Monk), Gary Fleder (Homefront), Damon Santostefano (Three To Tango), Will Geiger (Elvis and Anabelle), Brett Simon (Assassination of a High School President), and Anna Mastro (Guidance,Walter). "I encourage my students to take risks, explore different choices and delve more deeply into the characters they are portraying. I provide an environment that is close to a professional work situation without the pressure of having to prove anything. I hope to develop their own internal sense of emotional truth as it applies to film, theater and television roles.
