Classes are at 8 a.m.-10 a.m. or 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Students required to take two courses will have classes at both times. Students register for the course/s required. Class times will be assigned based on availability. Only for St. Thomas incoming freshmen who are required to take a summer course(s) in Language Arts, Reading and/or Pre-Algebra as a condition of acceptance. If one or more of these courses are checked on the Pink Course Selection Sheet, the student must successfully complete the course(s) in order to continue as a St.Thomas student for the fall semester. Thursday After School Spring 2016 - Terra Firma Farm
Terra Firma Farm is entering our 12th year of After School Programs here on the Farm! Throughout the year, the farm-based after school program serves local area students every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. The Terra Firma Farm After School program follows the Stonington Public School Calendar for holidays, half days, vacations and cancellations. Students are dropped at the farm after school or on the school bus and must be picked up by 5:30 PM. The After School program offers children in grades K- 4 the opportunity for fun, learning and exploration. Students arrive on the farm and are welcomed with a fresh after school snack. The children then do farm animal chores such as feeding the pigs, goats, cows, donkeys and the hens. A highlight of each day is gathering eggs from the laying hens. After chores are completed, children may participate in a range of other agriculture-based activities, including gardening, cooking, canning and preserving food, cheese- or butter-making, fiber arts, nature crafts, and much more. Other crafts and activities are scheduled to coincide with holidays and seasonal changes on the farm. 860-535-8171

Sizzling Music, Latin Dance & Culture Adventure Week We make it easy for our campers to learn the basic dance steps of traditional dances of Columbia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, Chile & more. Campers gain geographical, cultural and artistic awareness of South American countries through exposure to their music, food and dance forms. Additionally campers learn how to move to new rhythms. No prior dance training required. Campers play active & quiet games, create, sing songs, act, dance, cook, play sports and discover the joys of learning Spanish through engaging activities. Theme vocabulary includes colors, counting, verbs, nouns related to instruments, adjectives, sounds, tastes and places. Campers learn common Spanish words & phrases for movements, directions & parts of the body while getting in shape to lively music. Celebration Day Wed.
