LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Visual Arts Camp - Session 3 - Takoma Park Community Center
Have fun and express yourself through color, shape, drawing and design! Each session includes a new art related theme and group of art processes and activities. Sharpen your drawing skills, explore new materials and exercise your imagination with inspiring art projects. Two hours of drawing in the morning using graphite, pen and ink, colored pencils, charcoal pencils, pastels, oil pastels or conte crayon, etc. followed by two + hours of painting and/or collage and assemblage in the afternoon. Media such as watercolor painting, sumi-e, mixed media painting, texture and found - object assemblage will be explored. Art related movies, access to the game room during the day and outdoor art adventures are all included in what will certainly be a memorable summer experience. All materials included. Instructor: Katie Dell Kaufman Paperwork will need to be completed prior to the first day of camp. My son loved Camp Broad Rock. There was a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for my 12 year old son to choose from at this camp. This camp is for children from preschool through grade 12. Unlike other camps, Camp Broad Rock has an indoor aquatic center. My son was excited to know he could swim regardless of what the weather was like outdoors. Polpis PM Van - Week 4 - Polpis Harbor
In an effort to alleviate the traffic going to Polpis in the mornings, NCS is offering a bus to Polpis Harbor from the Nantucket Elementary School. Space is limited, so we suggest registering for this service early. This year the bus is being offered as a round trip service. The afternoon sessions bus will leave the Nantucket Elementary School promptly at 12:35am in order to get the children to their morning programs on time. The bus will return to the Elementary School with the sailors by 3:45pm and Parents/Guardians are responsible for promptly picking up their children. There is a $20 late pick-up fee, which will be billed to your NCS account, if a parent/guardian is later than 15 minutes to pick-up their student. ** Please note: This is a weekly sign-up, not bi-weekly! 5082286600.0

Machines and Mechanisms Grades 3-5 (Friday) - Janney Elementary School
Students work in small groups to explore pulleys, gears, and levers. They complete problem solving activities using physics and math and work on structures that require precision. Students also test and use the scientific method to determine which modifications will optimize their machine. These machines are powered by a battery pack. Instructed by Griot Chess. 202-724-8950

June 27-July 1 Junior Golf Academy - University of Maryland Golf Course
Each cam4 is designed to support our mission of growing junior golf within the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA by incorporating the concepts of the PGA Sports Academy. Through a variety of stations, drills, and activities, junior golfers will experience and learn the proper ideas and techniques of golf.
