My child gets homesick easily. Is camp not right for him / her?
Everyone gets homesick from time to time, but if your child seems especially shy, anxious, or clingy, you may fear that he or she isn't ready for an overnight trip. However, camp gives many kids their first taste of independence in a safe and supervised environment, which teaches them that living away from Mom and Dad isn't as scary as it seems.
Camp counselors are highly trained in dealing with homesickness, and they know how to comfort, encourage, and distract campers with fun games. By the end of the week, you may find that your nervous child doesn't want to leave!

Do you like robots? Have you been amazed by how NASA scientists use robots to explore the landscapes of other planets? You will learn how to build and program your very own LEGO Midstorms NXT Robot. You will also design a robot to complete a specific challenge. The advanced level LEGO robotics explores more difficult challenges. This mini camp is an awesome combination of science and engineering. Makers in this hands-on class will learn about fundamental science concepts and then use what they learn to create amazing projects to take home. Well learn about water and make balloon powered boats, study the night sky and make constellation "keychains", set off sparklers we make from scratch and more! Calling all tinkerers! The Fort Frankfort Adventures Summer Day Camp is back for another awesome summer. This camp is designed for children entering 1st - 6th grade this fall. This full day camp will provide plenty of outdoor activities, water days arts & crafts and a feild trip each week. Fort Frankfort Summer Adventures Summer Day Camp will be held a Commisioners Park, located at 22108 S. 80th Ave. in Frankfort. The Frankfort Park District continues its partnership with School District 157C for the use of Chelsea Middle School, which is located next to Commisioners Park. We will use the facility for before and after camp and during inclement weather conditions. The camp will run from 9-4pm, Monday thru Friday, with a bfore and after care option. Bring a lunch and water bottle each day. Luch may be included on certain field trip days.Registration must be done in person at our main office located at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street. INSTRUCTOR Staff
