The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, will be holding the 9th annual Safe Driving Camp for ages 15-17. The one day camp will teach new drivers about the consequences of distracted driving, the dangers of driving impaired, tips for defensive driving, skid recovery techniques, safety at railroad crossings, and demonstrate important vehicle maintenance practices. The camp will take place at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center from 9:00am until 4:30pm on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Anyone wishing to attend must complete the application and return it to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office either in person or by mail. Deadline for applications is Friday, July 01, 2016. Applications may be picked up at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office during normal business hours. Space is limited.

This camp is an aspiring vets ticket to the world of veterinary medicine. Hands-on activities include animal behavior, cancer research, clinical procedures, first aid, dentistry, diseases and parasites and will give campers the opportunity to experience the exciting field of veterinary medicine. Your daughter must be a 14 and older ski racer to participate in this camp. Session 1 at Keelys Ski Camp is seven days, three days on snow, one day off and then 3 days on. Summer is an opportune time to develop and improve technique, for this reason we emphasize drills each day of skiing. The first day focuses on free skiing and drills. Day 2 & 3 are more drills and gate training. Day 4 is OFF and we offer fun activities either in Hood River, rafting the Deschutes River, or a trip to Portland. Day 5,6 & 7 include more gate training, free skiing and drills. Day 7 is also the travel day. At Keelys Ski Camp many of the all female coaching staff are recently retired from the U. S. Ski Team or are still racing at the highest levels (Olympic, World Cup, Noram, NCAA and FIS).
