Session 2 Resident - 2016 ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute - Rehearsal Hall
The ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute at Rutgers University Neil L. Aaronson and Margaret Zufall-Roberts, directors Session I: July 24-29, 2016 Session II: July 31 – August 5, 2016 Ages 12 to 23| commuter and residential options available | performance sample video required for placement purposes only Now in its 12th year, the American String Teachers Association of New Jersey (ASTA/NJ) Chamber Music Institute provides participants with the opportunity to perform in small ensembles under the guidance of top teaching artists. Students participate in daily rehearsals, master classes, elective courses, special presentations, and a variety of social activities. Each session features a concert and master class with a professional visiting artist ensemble and concludes with a performance featuring student ensembles. ASTA/NJ CMI is open for participation to students playing to string instruments, woodwinds, classical guitar and piano. All students registering for the ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute at Rutgers University must also complete the Participant Questionnaire (/). Famous Characters & Scene Study - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This class is designed for 3rd-5th grade students. The fun continues! For interested students with some acting experience. Well explore changing our voices and bodies to represent different characters from favorite and familiar stories like the Harry Potter series, The Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Secret Garden...perhaps well travel to Narnia. Students will get to stretch their wings a bit each week doing dramatic readings. Well include some fun theatre games and improv activities too! At the final class parents will be invited to a staged presentation. INSTRUCTOR ROBERTA MASTER-CULLEN has been teaching childrens classes and camps at the Little Theatre for seven years. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild specializing in radio and television voiceovers, and has been a television news anchor and reporter. Become a Mad Scientist while performing labs as a CSI (crime scene investigator), create your own version of slime/goo, make the coolest, largest soap bubbles possible, set-off exploding Mentos geysers, and more! The Mad Scientist Summer Camp gives kids the opportunity to learn about science through a variety of interactive and hands-on science experiments and activities. Camp Collegiate Session 2 3rd-8th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Hawley Session 2: Machine Building Camp. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects. Fun off-campus trips will include canoeing down the Fall River, visiting the Oklahoma salt flats, going to Laser Quest, the Alley, Ice Skating, Tanganyika, the Sedgwick Co. Zoo, and All-Star Adventures. Kids often say that great memories are made in this camp and its one of the best parts of their summer! Each day at camp begins at 9:00 AM with a game of Capture the Flag and ends at 3:00 PM with a fun closing activity where the Happy Camper for the day is announced. Teen Sailing - ACSC, Encinal Boat Ramp
