It's here! The Fall edition of our Teen Power Camp provides a fundamental fitness foundation for any high school student, scaled to anyone from first timers just trying to get into shape to high school athletes looking for structured off-season training or additional in-season work. The Teen Power Program will introduce athletes to bodyweight exercises, gymnastics, powerlifting and basic olympic weightlifting, all while under the close supervision of a certified CrossFit instructor. Our goal is to teach local Teens how to safely and efficiently move their body and external objects (bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, etc) through space, dramatically improving body composition and improving athletic ability in anyone. Our program is designed to increase stamina, strength, power, endurance, coordination, balance, accuracy and flexibility in any person, all while in a team environment filled with positive people. Every workout is scaled to ANY teens capacity. Teens must be at least 13 years of age and emotionally mature. Welcome to the 2016 Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office Youth NFL Football Camp. Sheriff Roger L. Harris, 2X Super Bowl Champion Gary Clark formerly of the Washington Redskins and Tessa Wilborne and Jamie Brown of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices would like to invite your child to an NFL experience of a LIFETIME !! Cost: FREE WHO CAN ATTEND: Spotsylvania residents ages 6 to 18 years of age. WHERE DO I REGISTER MY CHILD: Each participating child must register at www.yourNFLexperience.com Registration will start promptly at 8AM each day at the entrance of the football stadium with the camp starting at 9AM. Your child must be picked up by 1PM at the same location. LFG football camp is a one day instructional clinic taught by volunteer college coaches from across the country. Participants are divided into groups based on chosen offensive and defensive position, and rotate through drills, skills and technique instruction throughout the day. The camp creates the opportunity to improve play, learn from college coaches, showcase talents and learn about the opportunities to continue ones academic and athletic career in college. Northern Knights Youth Football Camp (Grades 3-8) Northern Knights Youth Football camp emphasizes the fundamental techniques needed to play football. Camp is NON-CONTACT. It will teach skills that are vital to the athlete and will allow the athlete to reach their fullest potential. Coaches will provide a high energy and fast paced program in an environment that provides competition in the safest setting possible. Girls 5/6 LAX - Old Trail LAX fields and HMAC
The next team sport to open up for registration in our new Grade 5/6 Team Sports Development Program will be Girls Lacrosse. The goal of this program is to help girls develop basic lacrosse game skills and to provide opportunities to apply these skills in modified game situations. This program will be coached by Ms. Margie Anderson, former NCAA Division I College player (UMass) and coach (UNH) and one of our coaches of the MS girls 7 & 8 grade Girls Lacrosse teams and by Mrs. Christy Woodburn, grade 5 Assistant. Practices will be held on the following Wednesdays and Fridays: April 20, 22 , 27, and 29 and May 6, and 11. In addition, a small number of games/scrimmages are scheduled on Monday 5/2 (Hudson Youth at OTS), Friday 5/13 (the Saints at OTS), Saturday 5/14 (noon CLE at OTS), plus on Wednesday 5/18 (Revere Youth at OTS). Minimum number of participants will be 12 Registration fee is $125 and the registration deadline is April 17, 2016 Players are strongly encouraged to bring their own goggles, mouth guards and sticks.
