4-H Teen Summit - Session 3 - Nancy, KY
Kentucky 4-H Teen Summit is held annually at the Kentucky 4-H Educational Center in Jabez, KY. The conference is for youth who are currently enrolled in 6th, 7th, or 8th grades. This program is designed to develop leadership, citizenship and communication skills in youth. While at the conference, all participants get to learn in fun and educational workshops taught by members of the Kentucky 4-H State Teen Council. The conference also includes motivational speakers that get young people excited about leadership. The cost to attend is $115 which includes meals, lodging, and transportation. Teen Spirit Quest Camp - North Bennington, VT
“This is where I come every year to reflect, re-vision and rejuvenate. It’s my new year!”–Spirit Quest Teen Camper Spirit Quest for Teens is for 13-17-year-olds, who are moving into young adulthood and who need a safe, nurturing place to reflect on where they have been, where they are going and who they are becoming. Camping together, teens develop deep connections to their selves, their peers, their elders and Nature through --council circles, --team-building games, --nature-awareness activities and hikes, --poetry and art --movement and improv --drumming and journeying --sharing in meal preparation --solo time in nature --fire ceremonies and sweat lodges --mediation and yoga Life-long friendships are formed or deepened; issues of self-esteem and soul work are explored with a true honoring of each teen’s unique path. Teens are invited to camp for the whole week, beginning on Sunday afternoon and ending Saturday at noon to allow for more time together. Cost is $425 for early bird registration (by June 1) and $475 thereafter/per camper to cover most food and expenses for the six nights. PLEASE PAY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD. Advanced Computer Camp - Pi Edition - Transylvania University
Experienced computer students are given the opportunity to work on advanced projects. This camps theme will involve the Raspberry Pi computers as a low-cost experimenters platform. Morning and afternoon programming sessions will begin with a short lecture, then you will be allowed to address several challenges in response to the topic covered in the lecture. Learn at your own pace, but instructors will be available to help if you have questions or problems. Evening sessions are reserved for independent work and network gaming. During camp, participants will live in a Transylvania residence hall and eat three meals a day in the dining hall, beginning with breakfast on Monday. Campers can also use Transys library, computer laboratory, and recreational facilities. Internet service will not be available in the dorm rooms. Campers must have attended a previous Transylvania computer camp or taken some programming classes at your high school. If you do not have this background, please consider registering for our Introduction to Computer Programming Camp, scheduled for June 12-17. Enrollment is limited to 35 campers. The application deadline is May 1 and confirmations will be sent by May 15. If you are not selected for camp, your camp fee will be refunded. 859-233-8300
