Fall Softball Camp - Linton Youth League Sports Complex
We are pleased to announce a one day Fall Softball Camp open to players from 5 years of age to 8th grade. The camp will be held at the Linton Youth Complex on Saturday September 5th. This camp will be conducted by The Indiana Tribe coaches and staff and is open to everyone regardless of skill level and where a player lives. Players will be divided into age groups and we will focus on fundamental softball skills, game knowledge, and we will have fun doing it. Cost is $10/player and will include a lunch of a hot dog, chips and a drink. Players will be divided up in the afternoon for games and skills competitions. Camp times are from 9am-3pm. A separate instructional pitching time will be available from 4-6pm. Cost for the pitching clinic will be $5/player if you attended the camp or $10/player if the player is only attending the pitching clinic. We will focus on beginning pitching mechanics and drills. Ages 7 years to 8th grade are welcome. Registration is available the day of the event, but you are encouraged to pre-register via our Facebook Event post or by calling or texting Greg Elliott at 812.798.0174.
"Be Prepared" ladies retreat - Winchester, OH
Come "prepared" ladies for an awesome move of God! I cannot wait to fellowship with you all again this year! Friday night after service we will be having dinner and a bonfire. Saturday after service if there are any women interested we will be going to the Amish country �Friday night please bring a side dish or dessert to share. This camp will be 3 days long and 2 hours per day. We will be working on Walk, Trot, Posting, Leading, Haltering, Steering, Grooming, Parts of the Saddle, Bridle and Horse, and fun trivia about care of ponies/horses. Every kid learns at their own pace. I am here to teach them about horses and riding, while being safe and aware. If they are soaring, I let them soar and will continue teaching them new things. If they need to slow down and work on some smaller things, then they get to. This young age group is here to learn and have fun doing it. The rookie program offers repetition and teaches FUN-damental instruction for each player to allow the player to build a solid foundation. Lower baskets are used to reinforce proper shooting techniques and for players to build confidence in themselves. Robust Structures: Investigate the characteristics that make a building earthquake resistant, using an earthquake simulator constructed from LEGO® bricks. MAKER STATION Learn how to build a catapult from common household materials and use the Engineering Design Process to improve your design. Prototype a foam rocket toy and experiment with the design to fly longer and farther. Build balloon powered rocket cars to race against your classmates. Students will be building with common household materials and applying the Engineering Design Process to their work. Richmond has some of the best urban mountain biking trails around! Join the staff of Virginia Outside for daily instruction, trail rides and lots of fun. Campers will develop beginner and intermediate mountain biking skills including: steering, shifting, hill climbing and descending, log hopping, dodging obstacles, etiquette, maintenance, safety and more. Campers will ride in the morning, have an activity such as tubing or snorkeling on the James River, then get back on the bikes in the afternoon. Explore the stars! The Star Wars universe will be our guide as we tackle the challenges and adventures of space exploration. Participants will learn how to build and program their own planetary exploration droid in order to find the Rebels a new planet to put their base. Build and program your droid to navigate unseen areas, collect and test samples, and even film its exploits! Participants will learn how to use sensors to help their droid maneuver through an unknown land, in order to collect and test samples and bring back information to the Rebels. Children will even be able to have their droid record its adventures using a smartphone. In the afternoon campers will learn about circuits and Redstone to build Rebel bases on hostile worlds filled with traps and defenses to protect them from the Empire. Later we will take on the role of the Empire and attack each others bases to test their defenses. Children will learn how to camouflage their base into its surroundings (using hidden doors and other techniques), as well as how to use Redstone to create traps and other defenses against the Empire.
