Nasimco Youth Leadership Retreat 2016 - Fruitland Park, FL
NASIMCO is pleased to announce the 2016 Youth Leadership Retreat with the theme of “Thinking Outside the Box: Making Your Voice Count!” This year the retreat will be held in sunny Orlando, Florida. It is an initiative led by youth with the vision of creating a forum for dialogue to enhance the ability of participants to think outside the box, engage in self-reflection, become socially conscious and have the confidence to act upon it in their local and global communities. This year’s retreat is hosted by the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, INC. at the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp in sunny Fruitland Park, Florida. The retreat will combine facilitated workshops, debates, dialogue and recreational activities in order to optimize learning opportunities for all participants. It will take place during the Labour Day weekend, from September 2nd to September 5th, 2016. The intended participants are all youth ages 18 to 25. Registration is USD $200.00 per participant, which includes food, lodging, and ground transportation within Orlando. Spaces at the retreat are limited to 30 participants. In this class, students will participate in a variety of public speaking activities, composing their speeches, and presenting to an audiences. The golf camps at Grantwood provide a safe and fun atmosphere for juniors of all skill levels to play golf, build friendships and create lifelong memories. Our camps are staffed by PGA Professionals and instructors who focus on all important aspects of the game including putting, chipping, full swing, on-course play and rules and etiquette. Registration fee includes all golf fees, range balls, refreshments, lunch daily, prizes and more! This is a great opportunity for the aspiring avid junior golfer to learn many new aspects to improve scores and enhance their enjoyment of the game. Its never too early to get on the water! The Taste of Optis class is designed for kids aged 6-11 and does not require sailing experience. Meant to be a fun group experience, it enables kids to get a taste of sailing in one week of instruction. Students will become familiar with water safety on the docks and in an optimist trainer, while learning what it feels like to be on the water. Over the week the students will be introduced to the different parts of the boat, knots, rigging and steering.
