Could you suggest camp options for a 10 year old boy?
If you're opening to travel, I would suggest making a list of what you (and your son) are looking for in a camp. Is there a particular activity he likes or would like to try? Is a religious based program important, if so, how important? Do you want it to be an all boys camp or would you prefer a coed experience? I suggest looking at American Camp Association Accredited camps. Also program length is important. If your son is independent and does well away from home you could consider a two-week program. If he does not do well away...

The Youth Steering Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis invite youth in grades 6-12 and adult chaperons to register for the upcoming Diocesan Youth Fall Conference at Waycross! This year's theme is "Moving from Stress to Success." This weekend event offers youth from across the Diocese the opportunity to share together in plenary session, special worship, workshops, and choice activities while connecting with friends, new and old. TCTA Teen Theatre Camp Session 2 - Austin, TX
We are still looking for some interested teens for the TCTA Theatre Arts Program! ages 12-18 It's free, there are 2 sessions at 2 different locations June 13-July 8 @ Hancock Recreation Center July 11- Aug. 5 @ Doris Miller Auditorium Monday - Friday 1-5PM Write, direct, perform and tour to other camps a contemporary performance piece that will include written word, dance, puppetry, etc. The Artists we have hired for the camp have an extensive performance and technical background. You will be taking tours of local theatre spaces and seeing performances around town. This is truly a unique experience if you have an interest in the theatre arts and performance art. “Teen Sexism, Self-image and School Success” with Campbell Leaper, PhD
Adolescents today face the competing demands of doing well in school, being popular, developing close relationships with friends and romantic partners, and appearing sexually attractive to others. Each of these challenges is affected by stereotypes about what is considered desirable or undesirable for each gender. Sexism occurs when these stereotypes constrain the self-image and aspirations of girls and boys. What are the most powerful influences in teen sexism – family, peers, school, music, social media. How are these influences and the stereotypes they promote affecting teen relationships and school success? Do you worry about their effects on your children? Campbell Leaper, Professor and Department Chair of Psychology at UC Santa Cruz, and co-founder of the Gender Development Research Conference, is an expert on gender ideologies, self-concept, sexism, and gender bias in schools. He will talk about the ways that gender stereotypes affect girls’ and boys’ self-image, relationships, and school success. Most importantly, he will discuss what adults can do to mitigate sexism and the negative cultural influences in our kids’ lives. Folk Art and Crafts for Kids! Neighborhood favorite Meta Zhuraw will lead students in an exploration of a variety of traditional and experiement art forms. Mask-making, hand sewing, sculpture, painting and drawing, and more! All prices include $10 registration fee and $10 materials fee. Important Notice from UCAL: At the end of your registration process through the Active system, you will be offered a 30-day free trial of something called the Active Advantage program. This camp is overflowing with creative uses for everyday objects. We will make instruments, art, and gadgets from seemingly useless items. Straws arent just for drinking, balloons arent just for parties, and old cardboard has more uses than you can imagine. We will be thinking outside the box and learning some fun science along the way in this trash to treasure adventure. Date: Thursday, August 4th 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Ages: 8 - 14 Instructors: Santino Lauricella, Beth Sanders Fee: $40.00/student 717-692-3699

Deeper Impact is an intense discipleship camp for Christian youth who want to strengthen their walk with Christ and deepen their impact on their generation. To apply for this camp you need to check the box on the registration form & an application will be sent to you. These apps are not available online. This camp is designed to work with girls on the basic fundamentals of basketball. Individual skill drills include: shooting, dribbling, rebounding, passing, defense and offensive moves. Team/Group skill drills include: team offense/defense, moving without the ball, rebounding/blocking out.
