Angel Foundation’s Facing Cancer Together Teen Mentor program, provides a leadership opportunity for teens (13-18) to apply, be assessed and trained to be leaders within Facing Cancer Together programs, specifically for Camp Angel. Teen Mentors will be introduced to the field of human services, as well as provide experiences in groups with children and their families who have been struck by cancer. If teens have never been a camper, teens will be asked to be a camper in June camp in order to be an August Teen Mentor. 2016 Dorman Youth Football Camp - Roebuck, SC
The Dorman summer football camp is a non-contact camp designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of football to rising 2nd - 8th graders. The entire Dorman varsity football coaching staff, as well as all of our middle school coaches, will be instructing players in every facet of the game, including many of the same drills done by the Varsity Cavaliers. • Camp begins Monday, June 6th at 8:00am. Registration will begin at 7:30 each morning. Camp Carlyle: Session III - Carlyle House Historic Park
Camp Carlyle at Carlyle House Historic Park, in Old Town Alexandria, encourages children to explore history through challenging, engaging, and fun activities. We highly value and encourage inclusion of all campers in all activities. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about 18th century games, clothing, schooling, culinary techniques, trade and money, and city life. Campers will also have opportunities to take offsite field trips to other historic sites in Old Town Alexandria that include the George Washington Masonic Memorial, Alexandria Archaeology Museum, Gadsbys Tavern Museum and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum. The final day of camp includes an all-day offsite field trip to a historic site or museum. Past all-day offsite trips include George Washingtons Mount Vernon and George Masons Gunston Hall. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This camp is intended for rising 3rd to rising 6th graders. Adventure Camp - Week 5 - The Greenwell Foundation
Adventure Camp (ages 8-12 by first day of camp session). Why is Adventure Camp different? Campers are provided the opportunity to explore further into the park with longer hikes, shelter building, and learning how to build a campfire – and then Smores! Part of Adventure Camp is letting the group direct what activities they would like to do by coming up with new and exciting adventures. The staff has the freedom to be creative when making these fun adventures come to life. Campers will have an opportunity to kayak twice during the week, including a visit to the Hollywood Oyster Company. They will create and run their own unique obstacle course, go fishing and crabbing from the pier, and build their own boats out of recycled materials and test to see if they are sea-worthy. Mid-week, campers will hike to the Manor House area where they can build forts with bamboo, explore the gardens, play water games and capture the flag, visit the Barn and participate in our Nature Time program.
