By now it’s fairly common knowledge that poor posture can lead to sore muscles, respiratory difficulties, nerve constrictions, permanent spinal curvature, and spinal misalignment, but how does posture affect performance? Even the slightest change in how and when certain muscles are used can improve the quality of your performance in daily activity or in athletics. Attend this half camp to understand where you can improve and how to do it! This summer program will introduce students ranging from rising third graders to high school seniors to all aspects of the creative and technical sides of musical theatre production. From the audition to the final curtain, students will not only star in the production, they will also learn what it takes to put on a show. The program will include instruction in acting, voice, dance, set, costume, sound and lighting design and more. The camp meets Monday – Thursday each week from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00am – noon. Come and join the fun at Sugar Pine during February Break! It’s going to be an exciting week full of friends, adventure and growth. You’ll play lots of games: including target sports, board games, and adventurous activities. You’ll explore the beauty of the mountains during the daily nature lessons and get “creative” making crafts and learning new skills. Each day will have reading & journal times and open times to play with friends, make crafts, join the Game Room Tournament or visit the Old Mill Cafe. What is Day Camp? Kid's Adventure Day Camp was created as a safe, fun and educational event for 3rd-6th graders during school breaks. Parents can drop-off their children knowing that they will be cared for by experienced staff members who's primary concern is to provide a safe and fun environment for every child. Children register every morning and are picked-up every afternoon (no overnight stays). This highly charged camp will make your hair stand on end! Join us to explore physics and chemistry. Well be building, breaking, floating and squishing all sorts of contraptions and gooey concoctions. Pre and Post Camp are available - see our Pre and Post Camp section. Activities are the same each week during the summer. Camp projects change from year to year, but we do repeat many favorite projects. Use the grade your child JUST COMPLETED in the spring as his/her grade for camp registration. AGE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS STRICTLY ENFORCED. Whether youve just started learning an instrument or have been playing for years, playing steel pan is fun for everyone! We invite all instrumentalists to come learn to play pan - from percussionists to tuba players, violinists to bassoonists! If youre looking for a new, fun way to play music, youll love learning about this Caribbean instrument from Trinidad and Tobago. Youll have a chance to try out all of the instruments - from the high lead pan all the way down to the deep, low tones of the bass pans. Youll work with your instructor to learn basics of playing steel pan and play in several ensembles with everyone at the camp.
