The Dorman summer football camp is a non-contact camp designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of football to rising 2nd - 8th graders. The entire Dorman varsity football coaching staff, as well as all of our middle school coaches, will be instructing players in every facet of the game, including many of the same drills done by the Varsity Cavaliers. • Camp begins Monday, June 6th at 8:00am. Registration will begin at 7:30 each morning. Adventurers Outdoor Day Camp - Mount Shepherd Retreat Center
Adventurers are assigned to a small group of 10 to 16 campers and spend the week with counselors known for boundless energy and creative imaginations. Over the course of the week Adventurers can expect to canoe, swim, take a hayride, explore nature, make table top pottery, make nature crafts, hike to the fire tower, play games and have an all-round good time. Older Adventurers (9 and 10 year olds) will ride the aquatic zipline. 336-629-4085

During this camp week, we will have daily practice in following a process which should result in several creative writings projects. Each of the students writing projects will be evaluated. A big part of a successful creative writing class is being able to both give and receive constructive criticism; therefore, participation will be encouraged. Phyllis Monroe is a lover of anything related to language arts: words, phrases, clauses, paragraphs, essays, and formal research. Having taught all age groups- elementary, middle, and high school- she knowa that each grade/student will have different writing abilities; however, all age groups should follow basic guidelines for good writing.
