Campers will get down and dirty learning about bees while building wooden beehives at the Red River Valley Fair. Campers will learn how to construct our precut beehive building stations: box station, framing station and painting station. In-between building beehives, a bee specialist will teach the campers about bees and their habitat. Request t-shirt size on the registration form. Meet at the Schollander Information Building. 2016 Pre-Teen Summer Camp – Register March 9-11 - Scott Air Force Base
Youth, ages 9-13, are invited to register for the YP Pre-Teen Summer Camp which is held weekdays during the summer months from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This camp offers half day care with extracurricular activities for youth. Field trips will be conducted once a week to places like Sky Zone, City Museum, Raging Rivers Water Parks, The Fusion, laser tag, as well as excursions to base activities. (Field trips/activities such as bowling are an additional cost.) Fee: $100/child per week, plus the cost of excursions. Youth Programs membership is required. Annual Program membership is $48/child. Camp begins at 6:30 a.m., and ends at 12:30 p.m. when open recreation at the Youth Center starts. Youth are required to bring their own meals, however the snack bar is open periodically. Limited slots are available, sign-up early! Registration will coincide with School Age Program Summer Camp registration days, March 9-11 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more details, call Youth Programs at 256-5139.

They will learn with fun and arts about which food they need to be healthy, active and grow. Poor nutrition can cause health problems, overweight, and obesity. Female lacrosse players of all ability levels are welcome to attend this camp. Athletes will develop technical and tactical skills needed to be a successful player. Session will consist of agility, stick skills, offensive and defensive strategy and teamwork drills. Campers will participate in position specific drills as well as scrimmages and other competitions. Participants are required to bring a stick, goggles and mouth guard. Please dress appropriately rain or shine. 631 687 4556

While teaching disciplines such as politeness, respect, self control and concentration students will also learn the complex forms of the martial art known as Judo. This martial arts program will teach and train students on the proper technique, muscular development, calisthenics, stretching, joint rotation, exercises, endurance training, sparring and sparring related drills. Everyday, you will improve your balance and have fun with many activities about judo like crafts, drawing, writing. Japanese and learn few words in French. Fun games, fun activities and contests, lets move your body and your creativity skills.
