Boot Camp Fitness Class to Support New York Road Runners' (NYRR) Youth
Join us on Sunday, July 10th for a special one-hour Boot Camp Fitness Class to support New York Road Runners' (NYRR) Youth Programs, which serve over 200,000 students annually with free running and fitness experiences. During this special Boot Camp Fitness Class hosted by Michelle Stiglitz, you will sweat your way through a series of various exercise all to support a good cause. The class will be held outdoors in Clove Lakes park. We will meet promptly at 9:00am on the Martling Avenue Bridge (near the Staten Island Zoo parking lot) Please bring a mat or towel and a bottle of water. *All fitness levels are welcome to participate! Tuesday - Knitting - HoLa Lower School
This class begins with essential lessons for to empower new knitters. Lessons will include choosing supplies, reading instructions, casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off. Using these basic techniques, participants will learn how to create different knitting patterns using the knit and purl techniques, including seed stitch, ribbing, stockinette, and garter. Tech Time 3rd-5th - Evergreen Country Day School
Designed with the collaborative workshop model in mind, campers will enjoy an in-depth exploration of two essential tech tools: Scratch programming and Lego stop animation. Using MITs Scratch programming language, fundamental concepts will be taught so campers can start creating stories, games and animations and even try applying some of these skills to games like Minecraft. Well then investigate tricks of the trade for creating Lego stop animation movies so campers can make their very own flicks.
