After an less than desirable experience with a camp who shall remain nameless, we were a bit leery about sending our boys off to a new summer camp. However, when we discovered that Cedarbrook was centered around our same values and those values informed all the activities we took the leap of faith and glad that we did. Teen Plein Air: Art In Motion Camps #1 & 2 - Bow, WA
Choose from Camp #1 July 11th-15th or Camp #2 July 18th-July 22nd. Class Cost per week $87.50. Camp #1: 3:00pm-5:00pm -- Plein Air (**Students encouraged to participate in Part I & II) "Examining our surroundings in detail, seeing beauty not only in the spectacular but also in the smallest growing things" (Lowenfeld) . In addition to work in our cozy studio, small Plein-Air outings will be held at 2 locations during this one week workshop. Students will learn how to connect with their surroundings. More than ever before, kids face an abundance of pressures and stress. Mindfulness practices, such as yoga, meditation and breathwork, can give children the tools they need to navigate their life in a way that is true and authentic to them. During this special week of yoga camp, we will explore the many gifts that yoga has to give. Children will participate in activities that empower and center them, foster a strong sense of self, and connect them to the greater community. These ativities include, but are not limited to: Poses to empower, strengthen and bring balance Meditations and breathing practices to calm the body, mind and spirit Principles to guide healthy interactions w/ themselves and the world around them All exploration will take place in a playful, safe environment where each child can find their unique voice. Come for 1 or 2 weeks! All students will receive their own DAE 8GB flash drive to store their work on and take home! Code your own arcade game and design your own controller that works with it! The first half of this class will involve students coding their own old school arcade style game from scratch. Think something like Spade Invaders, Galaga, Pong and more! Then, well have the students work with Arduino boards and use physical programming to wire their own controller to work with the game. Finally, students will design their very own case for their controller that we will print out using our 3D Printers! Come both physical and digital programming for this interactive class where students will be able to show off their games and controllers to friends and family! **Please note**: We have Arduino UNOs & breadboards for the students to use as their controllers for the duration of the class but they will need to be returned at the end. The Camp is an opportunity to work on the fundamentals of the game both offensively and defensively. We will take time each day to work on hitting, fielding, throwing and pitching. The basics taught at this camp are universal to the success of any baseball player. 315-778-5050

Enjoy the fruits of your labor as you plant items to take home! *Please note: Students who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp within the same week are invited to stay for FREE supervised lunch and recess between 11:30 am-12:30 pm.
