LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Young Builder (FULL DAY) - San Juan Del Rio Catholic School
This is our FULL DAY option for Young Builder. Campers ages 4-5 will want to join us to learn exciting construction techniques using LEGO® bricks. Little Builder allows campers to take their first steps into science and engineering. By using the themes of construction and travel, campers learn about machines, the tools used to work on machines, and their functions. Our material packs include a wide range of bricks and special elements in various shapes, sizes, and colors that are ideal for stimulating childrens creative and imaginative skills. Camp counselors will introduce tasks each day in building vehicles, planes, buildings, towns and transportation systems as we work in groups to build a LEGO city! Campers receive lots of suggestions for ideas but are encouraged to use their own creativity and imagination. Stories and games are also incorporated into this camp, perfect for our youngest little campers, ages 4 and 5. Our pre-k camps have pre and post camp options available as well! Please pack a peanut-free snack, bag lunch and refreshment for your child. Each camper receives one free camp t-shirt with each week of registration - order as many extras as you want at checkout! The Youth Development Summer Camp provides At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County with a week-long camp experience. This year, we will be expanding our summer camp experience to include three, 1 week sessions that will impact over 120 At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County. During a typical week of summer camp, At Risk Youth interact with police officers in a positive learning environment. Some of the camp activities include bowling, fishing, mini golf, swimming, along with trips to the zoo and local movie theaters to name a few. Interlaced within these activities are structured lessons which teach about the dangers of bullying, internet safety, gun safety, peer pressure, and drug abuse. In today’s society, now more than ever, we need positive role models for our youth. The School Resource Officers of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office are effective, positive, motivational, role models for these At Risk Youth.
