Only open to students who are currently enrolled in Fall 2015 session The Africans in Diaspora Club will expose students to a variety of cultures while also looking at the many ways that Africa and its people have influenced the broader world. Students will have the opportunity to read, and critically discuss, Margy Burns Knights book, Africa Is Not A Country, with the intent of dismantling stereotypes and developing an appreciation for Africas diverse people, histories, colors, languages and foods. Additionally, students will be actively engaged in the process of learning, playing, dancing, eating and organizing. We are excited about our 2015 Summer Teen Camp. We will be headed to camp CoBeAc in Michigan to join in "the Next Great Detective" the week of July 20th-25th. OK Rutland remember how much we raised to help support #Jake? Cj's Suds South has partnered up to help a touring father in a fight for his own family and yours. Chad Garrett will be here all day from Ohio entertaining from acoustic, to karaoke, to being our DJ for the evening. Please look up #CONGA FOR KIDS CAMPAIGN on facebook and read his mission statement for a detailed description of his cause. Attitude: A Prairie Kids Boot Camp - The Prairie School
Do you like to be active? Do you want to be more active? Are you looking for an alternative to an organized sport, but still want to be part of a team? Are you interested in keeping in shape for a fall sport? Most of all, do you want to have fun? Then this high-energy boot camp is for you! If, that is, you have the right attitude. -- This boot camp is designed specifically for developing young bodies and minds, with a fun (and safe) mixture of body weight exercises, running and cardio, partner and group exercises, games and obstacle courses. All movements will help build coordination, balance, and motivation. Stretching before and after exercise is emphasized, and mindfulness and yoga techniques will be integrated each day. (And did we mention the music?) -- All participants need is a good pair of tennis shoes, comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle, and a positive attitude! No other equipment necessary. Members of the Cincinnati Football Staff will lead each Position along with local high school coaches focusing on skill development in both Offensive and Defensive Positions. Boys and Girls in grades K-6 will learn to play the fastest growing sport in the United States! Lacrosse is action packed and lots of fun. It has the elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Experienced coaches provided by Jump Start Sports lead the training on all the fundamentals, including: passing & catching, fielding ground balls, cradling, spacing, positioning and defense. Players will be divided by gender and age to play fun game situational scrimmages. Plastic sticks and soft balls will be provided. 2016 Jr High Fantasy Camp - Cal State Fullerton Titan Stadium
This is an opportunity for junior high school soccer players to experience the life of a Division 1 soccer player. Campers will be given the opportunity to train with Division 1 athletes and coaches. They will be put through a typical pre-season training camp that collegiate athletes experience at the beginning of every season. Campers will be sleeping in the collegiate dorms under the supervision of the camp directors, camp coaches and current Cal State Fullerton women soccer players. They will eat in the cafeteria, train twice or three times daily and be provided official Fullerton Soccer training gear. They will eat, sleep, and play soccer for 4 days straight! Oh yeah and have a little bit of fun while they are doing it!
