The Childrens Tree Montessori School was founded in 1995 to provide children and their parents an alternative to public sch ool education. We offer a nurturing, child-centered environment where children can develop independence, respect--both for themselves, others and the world we live in, and a lifelong love of learning. The Childrens Tree is the only Montessori school on the Connecticut Shoreline with both primary (preschool ages 3-6) and elementary (ages 6-12) programs. Students come from all over - Old Saybrook, Clinton, Westbrook, Chester, Old Lyme, East Lyme, Essex and Middletown, to name a few. We are proud to offer every student an individualized workplan, which is based on their interests and needs. The Teen Girl Retreat, hosted by Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Pineville, Arkansas, will be March 10th-11th at Budd Creek Baptist Camp. Registration will be on the 10th, 5:30-7:00. PRE-REGISTRATION will need to be done by February 20th. This will guarantee a T shirt for those registering & will give us a head count for food & dorms. If you need a handicap accessible dorm, please let us know at pre-registration!! Projects designed specifically for kids ages 7-12... learn about sewing, how to read patterns, how to use a sewing machine, different stitch options, etc. We will be making projects during the week and then having a "showcase" party on Friday from 12-2pm to show off what the kids have made. ***Kids will need a sack lunch*** *** Sewing machines are available to rent if you don't have one... a $10 per day rental fee applies and we must know BEFORE the class starts if your child needs to rent a machine***
