LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Mandarin - Little Dragons (Level 1) - Germantown Friends School
The objective of this club is to initiate what we hope will be a lifelong interest in a culture that is becoming an increasingly important player on the world stage. The program follows the My First Chinese Words curriculum, which offers an introduction to such key vocabulary as numbers, colors, body parts and animal names. Students will read supplementary Chinese storybooks, watch DVDs about Martial Arts and create arts and crafts related to Chinese holidays and traditions. Our bilingual, bicultural instructor, Wei Chen, is deeply committed to teaching Mandarin to children and to igniting their curiosity about foreign cultures. Please note: GFS is closed on Friday, May 27, so there will no club that day and the final club session will take place on June 3. 215-951-2384

Senior Boys ID & Team Camp - Davidson College
The Senior ID & Team Camps provide the committed player, who play club soccer and/or for their school team, an opportunity to elevate his/her game through an intensive program. Led by the Davidson College Head and Assistant Soccer Coaches, other College coaches, plus college and former college players, the camper will receive excellent instruction from staff who know what it takes to play at the college and pro level. Premier level technical and tactical instruction will be provided, along with small-sided and full-sided games for many competitive opportunities for each player to grow in match conditions. Each camper will receive a written evaluation - for further improvement and for potential use for college recruiting purposes. Pathways from Medieval to Modern Knighthood - Lower School Gym Building G
Campers will learn the ways of the medieval world as they experience a week in the life of a knight in training. Campers will learn about medieval history, mythology, European martial arts, woodcraft, and a whole host of skills necessary for survival in the medieval world on the path to becoming a knight. The foundation of the camp will be learning the knightly art of combat with the two-handed longsword. Campers will use specially constructed training swords with nylon blades and safety equipment to learn the fighting techniques of the German style of longsword combat.
