Hey there! This summer’s annual church camp is already down in the books, so mark your calendar! We are excited to have camp at Wallowa Lake because the Wallowas are one of Oregon’s 7 wonders! 3rd Annual Fireworks Fundraiser "Celebrate and Laugh" for Avengers Fre
The Avengers Mentoring Organization (501c3) presents it's 3rd Annual Charity Fireworks Fundraiser for our 5th Annual Summer Camp! Our FREE summer camp serves 300 children ages 6-13 in and around the Metro-Detroit area. This daily camp runs from July 11, 2016-August 19, 2016. Locations are: The Golightly Education Center (5536 St. Antoine) and George Crockett Academy (4851 14th St) in Detroit. During the camp, children are involved in team sports such as: volleyball, basketball, kickball, baseball and more, arts and crafts, group mentoring, outdoor recreational play and are also served by a mobile dentist. Meals are provided by Good Samaritan Food and is run by up to 25 volunteers! Field trips are also optional and available! This year's theme is "Celebrate and Laugh," the fireworks is a tradition in Metro-Detroit, get a magnificent view of the fireworks at One Woodward on the 19th floor! Enjoy a barbecue style meal, laughs by Comedians Mic Larry and Simply Shanell and enjoy the sounds of singing sensation and recording artist Johnyce! There will be music, dancing and many activities, as well as a VIP charter ride to and from the event! But most of all, you will be a part of helping the Avengers...

Elite Stride Kid's Fitness Camp - Conroe, TX
Beginning June 5, 2015, Elite Stride will be holding a 6-week strength and conditioning training camp and also skilled position training camp. Age group 6-12. The ending date for this event is July 17. Our goal is to help your children get the most out of their summer vacation and provide them with an outlet to stay active as well as reinforce a sense of leadership and discipline. Week #6: August 1-5: Crystals, Caves & Dino-Might! In this week long camp, scientists will become geologists and paleontologists as we sift, sort and classify rocks, make rock models, compare the saturation rates and composition of different types of soil and make a yummy dirt dessert to take home. Well work with dirt-dwelling insects, learn about the rock cycle, make models of the earth and mix up a batch of quicksand. Beginning Band (AM) - MA Lower School Band Room
This course will focus on learning the basics of the woodwind, brass or percussion instrument of each students choice. Learning activities will center around small group instruction with like instruments, music theory and games, and a group rehearsal with all instruments combined. The week will conclude with a short informance by all band members. Open to students entering 5th grade who have no previous experience on a band instrument. Summer Camp Juniper Jedis - Skyliner Lodge
Wildheart Juniper Jedis know how to tap into the invisible web of interconnectedness and travel through the woods without being noticed. Students will learn the art of silently stalking animals and people. In addition, they will practice listening closely to the Earth Force. Camouflage is essential for all Juniper Jedis and we will spend a good deal of our time practicing this skill of becoming invisible. Each participant will leave the camp with a complete camouflage kit, which will enable them to quickly blend in to their surroundings, no matter what the situation. Additionally, students will develop their ability to understand the language of the birds, giving them a birds-eye-view of their surroundings and informing them what their prey is up to, as well as any nearby predators. All of this and well still have time to play and enjoy ourselves as every Juniper Jedi knows how to have a good time! Instructor: Ms. Anamaria Here is the summary for the club. Below it is the summary for me: Crochet/Knitting and Paper folding In this club we focus on learning basic crochet or knitting techniques. This includes learning how to read charts. Students choose between knitting or crochet to start. They have option of learning the other later. Squares are the main building blocks for all of the projects. Projects will be up to the students to choose. They range from a scarf, book cover to a basic shirt. There will also be small non-square projects like mustaches, flowers and balls. Focusing on squares gives participants a quick project that can easily be completed during club time after the first few sessions. It also allows for lots of color without having to change or join yarn. Small projects like these can easily be done anywhere. The possibilities are endless for completed projects. A completed scarf can easily become a blanket later on if they want with the simple addition of more squares.
