Junior Camp-GIRLS ONLY - Petaluma Golf and Country Club
For juniors 7 to 17. Each camp consists of learning Basic Fundamentals, Swing Mechanics, Putting, Rules, Etiquette, and on course play. Low student to instructor ratio. Opti Race (Session 1 AM) - NESS
Prerequisite: Opti Green Fleet/instructor recommendation Students will work on more advanced boat handling techniques, including roll tacks and jibes, and will be introduced to more racing tactics, strategies and techniques. Sailors will learn what it takes to progress to the next level of Opti racing and will be expected to compete in local Opti regattas where Red, White and Blue fleets are formed by age. Having your own racing level Opti is an advantage at this stage and students are encouraged to bring their own boats. All students will be under the supervision of our race coach in class and at specific local regattas. Take your robotic skills to the next level at this camp for incoming 7th to 9th graders. Learn the processes involved in developing a robot, be introduced to programming, creatively design sensors to accomplish tasks, and much more. Instructor: Rosanne Stutts The technical aspects of black-and-white photography will be emphasized so that students can work more creatively with their camera and in the darkroom. Camera operations, use of equipment such as lenses, tripod, and light meter, and correct film selection are among the topics to be covered. Learn basic density and contrast controls for both negatives and prints, along with proper film development. Basic darkroom procedures, safety, printmaking techniques, burning and dodging, toning, archival processing and print presentation will also be discussed. Please bring your own 35-mm camera with manual controls. Girls entering grade 5 in Fall 2016 will spend the night at camp with their unit on Wednesday, July 27., and will participate in Archery (additional waiver form required).
